The OLCEC’26 International Education Conference is taking place on 17 November 2026, bringing together a range of perspectives, ideas and conversations across our four conference streams. 🎓

Our fourth and final stream is 'Understanding the Wellbeing and Cultural Dimensions of Human Existence.'

Stream 4 will explore the different factors that shape our wellbeing, identity and sense of belonging, looking at areas including health and quality of life, cultural identity, inclusion, social connection and communities at both a local and global level.

Join us this November as all four streams come together for a day of shared knowledge, discussion and new perspectives.

Did you know that getting creative can have a positive impact on your mental wellbeing?

Activities such as art, music and writing can provide an outlet for our thoughts and emotions, while also helping us to manage stress and switch off from everyday pressures.

Taking time to do something creative isn’t just about the end result. Even simply enjoying the process can be good for our minds.

With World Mental Health Day coming up on 10 October, we’re continuing to shine a light on the different ways we can understand and support our mental wellbeing. 💙

We’re so proud of OLC Europe Health and Social Care student Kayleigh Black, who took on an 11,000 ft skydive in support of The Christie Charity , raising an amazing £2,211.70. 🎉

Kayleigh took on the challenge in honour of her mum, who is living with Stage 4 lung cancer, raising vital funds to support the incredible work of The Christie and the people and families affected by cancer.

A huge congratulations to Kayleigh on this fantastic achievement, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and supported her along the way. 💙

Have you ever smelled a certain perfume, food or familiar scent and instantly been taken back to a memory?

That’s because our sense of smell is closely connected to the parts of the brain involved in emotion and memory, which is why certain scents can bring back feelings and moments so quickly.

Our minds are constantly responding to the world around us, often in ways we don’t even realise. Learning more about these connections can help us better understand our emotions and mental wellbeing.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing more interesting facts as we lead up to World Mental Health Day on 10 October.

This is your opportunity to represent your fellow students, share their views and ideas, and play an active role in shaping the student experience at OLC. You’ll work alongside staff and Student Ambassadors, support student activities and help ensure the student voice is heard across the college.

To apply, you’ll need to submit:

- A written manifesto
- An up-to-date CV
