π Celebrating an incredible achievement for former Apprentice of the Year, Dave Green, who has been awarded a Medal of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) in the Kingβs Honours List for services to diversity and inclusion.
Dave, a Duty Manager across Bee Network bus stations and interchanges, has been recognised for his outstanding commitment to supporting communities and creating life-changing opportunities for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Dave won our Apprentice of the Year in 2022 after completing his Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship, and continues to demonstrate the same leadership and dedication that earned him that award.
In his role, Dave leads teams who support thousands of passengers every day β from reuniting customers with lost property to working with partners to safeguard vulnerable people. However, it is his work beyond his day-to-day responsibilities that has made a truly transformational impact.
Working closely with Stockport charity Pure Innovations, Dave has helped create meaningful work experience opportunities within TfGM for young people with additional needs. As a mentor, he has supported interns to build confidence, develop essential skills, and overcome barriers to employment β with several progressing into paid roles and others gaining invaluable experience through placements that may otherwise have been out of reach.
Dave has also championed the programme more widely by delivering interview skills sessions, advising the charity, and encouraging other organisations to open their doors to inclusive opportunities.

π are proud to have donated a box of toiletries to Milly's Smiles.
Our Marketing Lead, Jenny, visited Lorraine earlier this week, to drop off the donation.
Toiletries form a vital part of every Milly's Bag, with each one containing a small toiletry bag filled with essentials such as shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, and a toothbrush.
As we continue to fundraise for Milly's Smiles throughout the year, it's great to be able to support the charity in as many ways as possible and help make a difference to the children and families they support.
