Our Year 13 students celebrated their Leavers’ Service in Thornleigh’s Chapel - a special afternoon filled with memories, laughter and reflection.
Heartfelt speeches were shared by both students and staff, including Headteacher Mr Fitzsimons and Sixth Form Director Mr Wilson, Ms Hulme and Ms Ogden, celebrating everything this amazing year group has achieved. The Sixth Form band kept the atmosphere lively with some fantastic performances, before a series of fun awards brought plenty of smiles and laughter.
Following a service led by Father Steven, students gathered on the lawn for refreshments, photos and one last chance to make memories with friends and teachers before exams come to an end.
We wish all of our Year 13s the very best for the rest of their exams and look forward to welcoming them back in August for results day. We are incredibly proud of the respectful, hardworking young people they have become, and we know they have bright futures ahead of them.

The stone is rolled away. Death does not have the final word — life does.
Christ calls us out of the tomb and into something new… into hope, into purpose, into life.
Happy Easter from everyone at Thornleigh.
“He is not here; he has risen.” (Luke 24:6)

Our 6th formers put up a strong performance against Canon Slade this afternoon, pulling back a 2 goal deficit to level at 3-3 unfortunately losing with the last kick of the game. Looking forward to another fixture after half-term

Two Sixth Form students attended the Catenian Speaking Contest where they had the opportunity to present their ideas to a wider audience. Taking part in this competition helped them to develop their confidence skills in public speaking as well as strengthening key literacy skills such as structuring arguments and using persuasive language. The experience was both challenging and rewarding. Well done to both students.
