Bridging the gap for the future generations. ๐ง ๐ช๐ผ
A few weeks ago myself .maywellbeing and .maywellbeing put together a session/presentation on the benefits of bridging the gap between your mental and physical health for a year 10 group from a local school.
The session was broke up into 3 sections which involved:
1. Presentation- talking through my own up and downs within life and how neglecting my health had a hugely negative effect on my physical and mental well-being and led me to use alcohol, food and drugs of a way of escape. As well as a honest discussion about how we where all feeling and the importance of understanding your emotions. ๐ง
2. Session 35min
-warm up-preparing the body for exercise.
-Strength- functional strength training with a variety of equipment from body weight, resistant bands, slam balls and TRX. promoting teamwork and encouraging others. ๐ช๐ผ
-Conditioning- High Intenisty work improving fitness and aerobic capacity on the assault bikes. Again in a team setting prompting positive communication and supporting others.

3. Group discussion on how the session had gone and reflecting on how we where feeling prior to the physical exercise and how we felt following on from it. ๐ง
The results where amazing and the young people seemed to take a lot from each section especially when reflecting on our feeling following on from the physical exercise which is exactly what we where trying to get over. โ
This is something we are all extremely passionate about, and by passing on our own life experiences we want to help EDUCATE the younger generations on the ups and downs life can throw at you, but how prioritising there health both physically and mentally can help overcome/manage the issues that they may face. We hope to INSPIRE others and help them GROW to be the best versions of themselves .
