This may very well help someone who is struggling with feeding their child/children this holiday. 💕 💕
Make sure your child isn't affected by the "summer slide". Teachers believe that a child's skills and learning can decline by up to a month over the long holidays. One way to avoid this "summer slide" is to encourage your child to keep reading over the summer. Here's some top tips to help keep reading fun – and avoid losing those hard-won new skills: https://bit.ly/3kOydUc

Wise words from the Secret Headteacher.
Meet the team – Anna Bowling
I have been a teacher now for the last 20 years and love the variety that working with children brings. There is never a dull day – or a day that is the same – and that’s what working with young people is all about!
I am a mum to two secondary-age children and I enjoy walking, reading, watching films and am currently trying to get back into running a 5k in a reasonably respectable time!
Seeing children make progress, whether that is gaining more self-confidence, mastering a tricky spelling pattern or learning a new calculation method or is what makes my work as a tutor so rewarding.
Each child we work with at Flying High is an individual which is why we tailor every session and every learning pack with that one child in mind.
Meet the team - Emma Cosgrave
My experience of teaching all year groups from Nursery to Year 6 over the last 22 years has taught me that with the right learning environment, the right resources and someone who truly cares about children’s individuality, any child can reach their true potential whatever that might be.
When I’m not at work, you will find me baking up a storm with my two wonderful children or going on a nice long walk with my husband and Rocky the dog!
Helping children to believe in themselves and giving them the tools they need to do well, no matter what their ability, is my absolute passion. Here at Flying High Tutoring, we can support your child through bespoke tutoring and I look forward to being part of your child’s learning journey.
‘Scarf Jake’ joined our phonics session this morning!
Another fun pack ready to go! Using modelling material such as Play-Doh is great for developing motor skills as well as providing a stimulus for writing. What will we make?
This week is Children’s Mental Health Week. It’s now more important than ever to help our children and young people feel comfortable to express how they are feeling and to have open and honest conversations with others around them. Why not have a go at some of the activities on the Friendly February calendar? Thanks to Action for Happiness and All on the Board for these ideas.
