🌳🍃 Today we had a lovely trip to the woods! 🍃🌳

This time, we went on a scavenger hunt to see how many woodland treasures we could find. The children searched for 🐞 bugs, 🍂 leaves, 🌳 bark, 🍓 berries, 🪺 bird nests, and much more.

We enjoyed some bark rubbing using chalk and paper 🎨, and then challenged ourselves to find the longest branches we could. As we kept discovering bigger and bigger branches, we had to work together 🤝 to carry them!

Using the branches, and even our own bodies, we made the word “HI” 👋🏻 before continuing to build the lean-to shelter we discovered on our last visit 🏕️.

There was plenty of running, exploring, games, and adventure throughout the day 🏃‍♂️🌲. We also enjoyed picnic-style snacks and lunch in the fresh air 🧺☀️.

A wonderful day of outdoor learning, teamwork, friendship, and fun! 🌿🌈

🌿🐿️ A Wonderful Morning Adventure in the Woods! 🦋🍃

Today we enjoyed a fantastic morning exploring the woods together! 🌳✨ We spotted squirrels 🐿️, birds 🐦, a rabbit 🐇, blackberries 🍓, and discovered lots of beautiful butterflies 🦋 and fascinating bugs 🐞.

We stopped for a tasty snack with our friends 🧺 before climbing over fallen trees 🌲, helping to build onto a lean-to Shelby had already started 🛖, and enjoying lots of running, chasing, laughter, and imaginative play. 💚

After all our adventures, we finished the morning with a lovely picnic lunch together. 🥪🍎 Fresh air, nature, friendship, and plenty of smiles made for another fantastic day at Tiny Shephards Childcare! 🥰🌼

🌳🍄 Into the woods we go… 🍄🌳

We had lots of fun at Aldingbourne Centre today in the fairy woods 🧚✨, playing in the wooden play house 🏡 and watching the lights spin in the big house 🌈💫. We had great fun trying to catch the ribbons 🎀 and pompoms in the trees 🌳.

In the rest of the woods, we found sticks 🪵, insects 🐞, had a go at climbing fallen trees 🌲, balancing on the bridges 🌉 and singing songs together 🎶❤️.

A wonderful day full of adventure, imagination and exploring nature with friends ! 🌿😊

Today we had a fantastic visit to Little Street in Chichester! 🏡✨

The children had so much fun exploring and role-playing as bakers 🍞, doctors 👩‍⚕️, farmers 🚜, hairdressers 💇, shopkeepers 🛒, customers 💳, and even putting on theatre performances 🎭. They loved beeping items through the till, caring for the farm animals 🐑, riding bikes and cars 🚲🚗, exploring the construction area 🚧, and climbing aboard the big tractor! 🌟

A wonderful day full of imagination, learning, and lots of smiles! 💛

☀️🌼 What We’ve Been Up To in May at Tiny Shephards Childcare 🌼☀️

What a fantastic month we’ve had! May has been full of sunshine, adventures, learning, laughter, and lots of fun with our friends! 🥰🌈

🌳🍃 We’ve made the most of the beautiful weather by visiting local parks, exploring the garden, and spending lots of time “relaxing” in the sand pit 🏖️ (although our little ones are always busy digging, building, and creating! 😄).

🤸‍♀️🏰 We also enjoyed some of our regular activities, including Leap Frogs, where the children had the chance to get active and develop their physical skills. The bouncy castle and soft play shapes were a huge hit, encouraging climbing, balancing, jumping, and plenty of giggles! 😆💪

🚶‍♀️🌊 Outdoor Learning Adventures 🌊🚶‍♂️

As part of our outdoor learning experiences, we enjoyed a lovely walk along Bognor Prom with our childminder friends and the children in their care. 🌞👫 We spent time running along the promenade 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️, collecting shells and stones 🐚🪨, watching the dogs go by 🐕🐾, and taking in the sights and sounds of the seaside. We stopped for a tasty snack 🍎🥪 and even enjoyed a cheeky Mini Milk ice lolly 🍦😋 — the perfect treat on a sunny day!

🚜🐑 Our trips to Aldingbourne were packed with exciting experiences. During one visit, we spent much of our time exploring the small world area, dressing up as veterinarians 🩺🐶, police officers 👮, firefighters 🚒, builders 👷, shopkeepers 🛒, and more. Another visit saw us meeting the animals 🐐🐰, building with the large blocks 🧱, and racing around the tractor track 🚜💨.

🌲🍂 For Outdoor Learning Week, we explored the forest area, climbing 🧗, balancing ⚖️, searching for bugs 🐞🔍, and discovering nature all around us 🌿🍄. Every visit included a picnic with friends 🧺🍓 and plenty of time to run, play, and explore before heading home. 💚

🧼🫧 This month we also learned about the importance of keeping clean through our handwashing activities. We had fun washing the “bugs” away 🦠🚿 and learning how clean hands help keep us healthy and happy! 🙌✨

🌞💛 Sun Week 💛🌞

Our Sun Week focused on the colour yellow 💛🌻 and taught us all about staying safe in the sunshine. We explored activities about sun safety 🕶️👒, why we wear hats, and the importance of applying sun cream 🧴 to protect our skin while enjoying the outdoors. ☀️😎

🐝🌼 Bee Week 🌼🐝

Bee Week brought lots of exciting sensory experiences! We explored sensory trays filled with soil and flowers 🌷🌱 for the bees to visit, used tweezers to carefully move bees into honeycomb shapes 🍯🐝, enjoyed splashing in water play 💦, and got creative making bees with paint 🎨, handprints 🖐️, coloured pasta 🌈, and pinecones 🌲.

💦🐟 To finish off our wonderful month, we enjoyed fishing for ducks and fish in the paddling pool 🦆🎣🐠, splashing in the water 💧😄, and making the most of the warm weather with our friends. ☀️👫

🥰 It has been lovely watching the children learn, explore, create, and grow together throughout May. We are so proud of all their achievements and can’t wait to see what adventures June will bring! 🌈✨

We had a wonderful morning with all our childminder friends 🌈👫

The children had so much fun playing with cars 🚗, water 💦, sand 🏖️ and the role play kitchen 🍳. We explored bugs 🐞, used binoculars 🔍 to look all around us, and enjoyed the diggers 🚜 and climbing frame 🧗‍♂️.

We finished with a lovely picnic snack time 🧺 and a story 📖 — such a special morning together 💛

Back at tiney Shephards, we continued our playdough fun 🎨, using tools to help us get creative. We also played with balls in the garden ⚽, with lots of running 🏃‍♂️, sliding and more — burning off that energy and having lots of laughs 😄

Getting creative with colours using playdough 🎨✨ Lots of cutting ✂️, rolling 🤲, pushing 👉 and stamping 🔵🟡🟢.

We also had a go at dough disco 🕺🎶—squeezing, poking, rolling and more to help build up our hand muscles 💪🖐️.

Garden fun included building tall towers with wooden blocks 🧱🌿 and enjoying some wet and muddy play in the mud kitchen 🌧️🥄—messy fun all around! 😄

We had the best time playing with friends—climbing, swinging, twisting, spinning, digging in the sand and zooming down the slides! 🛝🪏

We also enjoyed a lovely picnic for snack and lunch 🧺🍎 and finished off with lots of running and laughter 💛

This week at Tiny Shephards Childcare has been full of fun, learning, and adventure! 🌈✨

We had a fantastic trip to Aldingbourne Centre, where the children made the most of the role play town 🏡 We had police officers 👮‍♂️, firefighters 🚒, shopkeepers 🛒, builders 👷‍♂️ and more – their imaginations were amazing to see! We also enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch 🧺 and plenty of time to run around with friends 🏃‍♀️💛

We also enjoyed a lovely trip to the beach 🏖️ The children had so much fun using diggers to scoop up sand 🚜, carefully selecting stones 🪨, splashing their feet in the water 💦 and playing together in the tent ⛺ – lots of smiles and laughter all around! 😊

We took a trip to the shops to look for new resources for our setting 🛍️, as well as choosing a special “well done” gift 🎁 for one of our friends.

Throughout the week, we explored colours in lots of exciting ways 🎨 We played “I Spy” 👀 to spot colours around us, experimented with our rainbow blocks 🌈 to see how colours change, and used coloured numbers 🔢 to support our learning. The children also practised counting, matching shapes, and recognising numbers.

To finish off the week, we welcomed friends from other childminders 🤝 The children had a great time playing together in the sand tray, mud kitchen, ball pit and more – a perfect end to a busy and happy week! 😊
