Today we received a prize from Better Planet Schools for our module on 'Travel and Transport.' This included lots of work by the whole school with Bikeability, road safety, walk to school week and work by the Eco Council on promoting safer travel. Everyone was very excited when it arrived as it was lots of things to help nature on our grounds. It included a hedgehog house, a ladybird house and a solitary beehive.
A big thank you to Mrs Evans for all of her continued work to ensure we are an eco-school.

Last week, we were visited by Bee Keeper - Jamie Leeper - this was part of the Year 2 topic: Why Are Bees Important? He showed us his equipment and discussed how he safely handles the bees; he talked about the jobs of the different types of bees and even brought in one of his hives to show us the queen bee and how they work together to create the comb and honey.
Thank you Jamie, the children absolutely loved this visit!

On Wednesday all classes across the school took part in a Fit4All session. During the sessions the children learnt about the effects of exercise on their body and how to stay healthy. They explored the difference in their pulse before and after exercise, considered different food groups and whether foods should be eaten
every day, sometimes, or as a treat and learnt about the importance of sleep and hygiene in keeping us healthy. The sessions were a fun and active way to consider these important themes.

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year. This is the highest level of award achievable by a school!
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
Thank you Miss Stanton for all of your hard-work

As part of the school’s Learning 4 Life Curriculum, we want our pupils to know that they can make a positive difference to others across the school and within our community. Before half term, staff and pupils participated in a Sponsored Run in support of the charity Stonepillow. Stonepillow help hundreds of people to make positive changes. Since the charity was established in 1989, they have supported thousands of people in West Sussex to restart their lives with independence, dignity and confidence. Thank you to everyone who donated money for this event. We are delighted to announce that the event has raised over £900!
