In May we had a fantastic visit to the Novium Museum in Chichester to see the wonderful Elmer exhibition! 🌈🐘

The children enjoyed exploring the colourful displays, discovering Elmer's story, and taking part in the interactive activities. It was a lovely opportunity to encourage imagination, creativity, and a love of books.

We had lots of smiles, excitement, and superb listening and instruction following throughout the day. Thank you to the Novium Museum for such a brilliant exhibition and a memorable experience for our Little Seagulls Childminding! 😊

What a lovely morning we've had in the garden today! πŸŒžπŸ’¦

πŸš’πŸ”₯ Firefighter fun πŸ”₯πŸš’

The children had a fantastic time pretending to be firefighters, working together to respond to emergencies and save the day! They chatted about calling 999, discussed what firefighters do to help people, and practised squirting water to put out their imaginary fires. πŸ’¦ children had lots of fun using and transporting water from the tray, pouring, splashing, filling containers and creating their own puddles to splash in.

Water play is a fantastic way to support fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving and language development while having plenty of fun!

Today we had a wonderful time exploring the shingle on the beach, engaging with the natural environment through play on the pebbles and large rocks. 🌊

We used rich vocabulary to describe what they noticed and felt, comparing textures such as smooth and rough, and observing colours like light brown, speckled, patchy and dark grey. These moments support language development, encouraging children to express their ideas and expand descriptive skills.

There were also lots of opportunities to explore early mathematical concepts. We compared weight and size, noticed how different shapes rolled in different ways and experimented with speed by sending pebbles down slopes. We also enjoyed watching what happened when we threw the pebbles and dropped them from different heights.

Physical development was a key part of our session, with children climbing and jumping across the larger rocks playing floor is lava. This supported their balance, coordination, and confidence. The children practised how to move safely while still embracing challenge and adventure.

A fantastic day of learning through play, curiosity, and exploration! 🌟

This week we popped to Chichester to see the market stalls and also nipped into the toy shop.

It was a great opportunity for the children to see all the different stalls and talk about what they were selling.

In the toy shop we enjoyed making choicesβ€”looking at the numbers in prices, talking about likes and dislikes, colours, textures and talking to the cashier whilst laying for the toy. Such an important life skill while still having lots of fun!

Enjoying the sunshine this week β˜€οΈ

The Little Seagulls have had a wonderful time running, laughing, and playing on the grass, making the most of the beautiful weather. We also explored the park equipment, building confidence, coordination, and lots of happy memories along the way πŸŒ³πŸ›

Parks with different equipment, fresh air, lots of active play, and lots of giggles β€” just how Spring days should be πŸ’›

Today we enjoyed decorating our Mother’s Day presents which they chose from the local florists πŸ’

The children used lots of colourful stickers to decorate their special gifts. Peeling and placing the stickers helped develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Some of the stickers were a little tricky, so the children showed great perseverance carefully trying to peel them off and put the rubbish in the tray.

While we worked, we talked about the different properties of shapes. The children enjoyed naming the shapes and choosing their favourites to add to their designs.

The children were very proud of their creations and are excited to take their special surprises home for Mother’s Day! πŸ’

What a fantastic day of adventures in the sunshine yesterday! β˜€οΈ
It started with a trip to the Bognor Regis Train station where we were lucky enough to get tickets to go on the educational 200 train. This gave the children the opportunity to explore the carriages and learn more about trains. This supported their understanding of the world, sparked conversations about transport, and encouraged lots of new vocabulary. On the train we had a go at building our own bridge and playing with the train set, making the train go faster and slower using coloured blocks. Also on the train there was a projector in the sand, where the children created mountains and lakes.

After we went to the park, we enjoyed lunch together and we finished our trip to the park with a delicious strawberry vegan ice cream treat πŸ“πŸ¦ β€” practising turn-taking and patience while enjoying a well-earned reward!

On the way home all children were walking carefully, listening well, and holding hands along the prom. This showed fantastic personal, social and emotional development, as the children demonstrated awareness of safety and care for one another.

It was such a joy to be outdoors, learning through play and real-life experiences in the sunshine.

We love going to our local toddler group and have so much fun!
This week the children were excited to explore the small climbing frame, practicing their balancing, climbing and taking turns. It was lovely to see their confidence grow as they supported one another and celebrated each little achievement.

Toddler group is a great way for the children to build social skills, make new friends and develop their physical abilities in a safe and stimulating environment. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! 😊

There’s something so satisfying about watching a digger in action 🚜

Spent some time today watching it clear away piles of stones, scoop by scoop. The power, the precision, the way it moves so effortlessly – We could have stood there all day! There’s just something calming about seeing the progress happen right in front of you...... And obviously it makes pushing the pushchair along the prom a million times easier πŸ˜‚

From a rocky patch to a clean, clear space in no time – amazing what these machines can do.
