πŸ–οΈFive current buns was our song of the week 🎢 where children enjoyed taking part in group singing, and some older ones who enjoyed taking the lead to show our younger children how the song goes.

The children understood the concept of β€˜one less’ when working out how many current buns they had left. ☝️

Children were 🎢 singing and acting 🎭 the rhyme out together, thinking carefully about how many buns are left at the end. The children also had a coin to pay for their current bun πŸ’°
The children really enjoyed the Car wash πŸš—!
Bubbly water and water sprays were provided for children to role play a car wash experience, some even turning the car upside down to wash it! This was amazing for their gross and fine motor skills πŸ’¦πŸ«§πŸš˜
We’re going on a bug hunt πŸͺ±πŸŒπŸœ
Children were engrossed in looking for bugs but wanted to make sure they were safe too. After making a little bug garden we explored different mini-beast’s and what is different about them, things they like to eat and where they like to live.
We have had a range of conversations around our ocean animals, the children have shown great knowledge of what they already know β€œdid you know this bit on the narwhale is actually a tooth” 🌊🐠🐬🐑
As the sun is now joining us 🌞
Please can I remind parents/carers to send your child in with a sun hat and apply sun cream before preschool 🧒🧴

Thank you 🀍

πŸ‘‘ Children have decorated their own crowns.

β€οΈπŸ’™πŸ’œ This coming week we will have activities out celebrating the Holi festival, this is a Hindu festival that marks the arrival of spring. πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ§‘
πŸ“š What a lovely week we had last week sharing your children's favourite books with them! πŸ“š

Reading from a young age helps
-develop speech and language,
-promote brain development and imagination,
-develops language and emotions, also
-strengthens relationships by giving children something to talk about with you and their peers.

As well as reading to your child, you can let them talk you through the book and what happens (if it’s a familiar book to them). Another great way to get your child involved with reading and gain an interest in books is for your child to tell you a story by telling you what’s happening in the pictures.

Here are some of the amazing books we shared together! πŸ“–

Young children love it when you chat, play and read with them, even if you think they're too young to understand. You can turn almost anything into a game. Every little thing you do together helps set them up nicely for when they start school.

Copied from The Child Accident Prevention Trust

What do whole grapes and mini eggs have in common? They’re both the perfect size and shape to completely block a child’s airway. And, due to their texture they can be difficult to dislodge with standard first aid techniques.

With whole grapes we advise cutting them in half lengthways and ideally into quarters to create thin strips. But chopping up mini eggs isn’t as easy. So, what can you do?

1. Hide them from the children and eat them yourself – good luck with that!
2. Put the mini eggs into a sealable plastic bag and smash them into small pieces with a rolling pin. Or, crush them in a pestle and mortar.
3. Opt for a different treat. Larger, hollow eggs are much safer for little ones.

Visit our choking hub to learn more about common choking hazards and what you should do in an emergency: https://capt.org.uk/choking-prevention/

πŸ“š To help celebrate world book day on March 2nd, we are asking if children would like to bring in their favourite storybook on one of the days leading up to and including the 2nd to share with all of their friends and us!
(Due to the difference in ages and managing their toileting needs) we ask the children to not worry about dressing up 😊 and come as they are xx πŸ“—πŸ“’πŸ“˜πŸ“•πŸ“™
