🎭 Student Success Story – Maya 🧡 🙌
Maya is celebrating an incredible achievement after securing a Grade 9 in Dance, turning a passion she first discovered through a school club in Year 7 into the next step of her future career.
In September, Maya will be joining Jason Thomas Performing Arts, where she will continue pursuing her love of performance. Alongside her Grade 9 in Dance, Maya was also delighted to achieve Grade 7s in both English Language and English Literature, as well as passing Maths.
Reflecting on her time at Bodmin College, Maya credits the school's productions with helping her discover her path:
"I've done all the school productions since I've been here and they were the best things I've ever done! I met so many people, and it really pushed me towards the career I want."
Over the years, Maya performed in Sister Act Jr, Frozen Jr, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, progressing from ensemble roles to becoming the show's narrator.
Maya was keen to thank Mrs Groom (Dance Teacher), saying:
"She's the sweetest lady ever and got me doing what I do. Without her support, I don't think I'd be doing dance."
Congratulations, Maya! You've followed your passion and now you're ready for an exciting new chapter. Keep dancing, keep performing, and keep shining. 💃

🎉 Student Success Story – George 🧡 🙌
George is celebrating a strong set of GCSE results, achieving the grades he needed to take his next step after Bodmin College.
Among his successes were a Grade 6 in English Literature, Grade 5 in English Language, Grade 5-5 in Science, and a Grade 4 in Maths, with several results exceeding his expectations.
In September, George hopes to join Callywith College to study Law, Criminology and Psychology, opening the door to an exciting new chapter.
Reflecting on his journey, George was keen to thank Mr Price for helping him make significant progress in English:
"I feel like he's taken me from about a Grade 3 all the way to Grades 5 and 6. He's very funny and his way of teaching is very good."
Looking back on his five years at Bodmin College, George's favourite memories were the simple moments spent with friends:
"Building those friendships with my mates is what I'll always remember."

🎉 Student Success Story – Devon 🧡 🙌
Head Student Devon is celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results, achieving a majority of Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and a Grade 7 after months of dedication and hard work.
In September, Devon will be heading to Callywith College to study Biology, Chemistry and Psychology, alongside an EPQ and The Medics Academy, as she pursues her ambition of a career in medicine.
Looking back on her time at Bodmin College, her standout memory was completing Ten Tors with two close friends in Year 9:

"There were so many tears, but when we saw the finish line, we all started running. That has always been my Bodmin College moment."
Devon also wanted to thank Mrs Pooley, saying:

"She always gave us so many resources and guided us through the whole course. I owe my nines in Science to her!"

🎭 Student Success Story – Maia 🧡 🙌
This September, Maia will take an exciting next step in her journey, heading to the prestigious BRIT School in London to study a UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performance and Production Arts, alongside an A-Level in English.

After an extensive application process involving written work, auditions and interviews, Maia has secured a place at one of the UK's most renowned performing arts schools.

Maia achieved an exceptional set of GCSE results, including a Grade 9 in Drama, Grade 9 in English Language, Grade 8 in English Literature, and Grade 8s in both French and Spanish.

Reflecting on her results, Maia said:
"I'm obviously very chuffed with a 9 in Drama. That's definitely what I've set my sights on for the future, so I'm so pleased that all the hard work has paid off."
She continued: "It's such a big step to move to London, but I'm so excited. It feels like a whole new world of opportunity and I feel very privileged that I get to be part of it."

Throughout her time at Bodmin College, Maia has embraced every opportunity to develop her passion for performance, from working with the Royal Shakespeare Company to creating the much-loved Silly School sketch comedy group with friends.

Maia also wanted to thank the staff who supported her throughout her journey:
"My drama teachers have been amazing, and I'd also like to thank the languages department, Miss White and Miss O'Mara. Honestly, all my teachers have been amazing, and I feel so lucky to have had that support."

Congratulations, Maia. We are incredibly proud of your achievements and can't wait to see what the future holds. Good luck in the big city! 🧡 💂 🎭

🎉 Student Success Story – Kuba 🧡 🙌
A huge congratulations to Kuba on an outstanding set of results!

Among his many successes, Kuba achieved 8s in Geography, Chemistry and English Literature, and 7s in Maths, Biology, Physics and English Language. He also secured a fantastic Level 2 Distinction in Business and a Level Merit 2 in Health and Social Care.

Reflecting on his results, Kuba said: "I'm very happy with getting an 8 in Chemistry. I was predicting a 6, so that grade is amazing. I feel the same about English Literature!"

Kuba will now be heading to Callywith College to study A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology, taking his next steps towards an ambitious future in medicine. His goal is to attend medical school, become a doctor and eventually specialise as a surgeon.

Kuba also took the opportunity to thank a member of staff who helped him along the way: "I'd like to thank Miss Bunyan in English. She helped me to grow my confidence and obtain those high grades."

Kuba’s Bodmin College Highlight: "The Paris trip in Year 8 was absolutely amazing. I'll always remember it."
