πŸŽ‰πŸ‘• FRIENDS OF SCHOOL DRESS DOWN DAY πŸ‘•πŸŽ‰

On Friday 12th June, children are invited to come to school in their own clothes in exchange for a donation towards our Summer Fair on 26th June! β˜€οΈπŸ‰πŸ–οΈ

This year's donation theme is "Summer Days". We would be very grateful for any summer-themed donations for our fair stalls. Where possible, please avoid chocolate, as we had a few melting mishaps in last year's warm weather! 🌞🍫

To help us create colourful fair hampers, we have allocated a colour theme for each class. Please note that these colours apply to donations only – children are welcome to wear whatever they like on the day.

🌟 Year 6 London Adventure! 🌟

Our Year 6 pupils have had an incredible week exploring some of London's most famous landmarks and attractions!

The trip began with a visit to the Tower of London, where the children took part in an engaging workshop and enjoyed a fascinating tour of this historic site. From there, they walked across the iconic Tower Bridge before enjoying lunch in a beautiful park beside the River Thames.

The adventure continued with visits to HMS Belfast and the world-renowned Tate Modern, giving pupils the opportunity to learn about history, art and culture in some of London's most celebrated venues.

Another highlight of the trip was a visit to Horizon 22, where the children enjoyed spectacular panoramic views across the capital from one of London's tallest viewing platforms. They then headed to Green Park and Buckingham Palace, enjoying lunch while soaking up the atmosphere in the heart of the city.

The afternoon included some souvenir shopping and opportunities to visit Westminster Cathedral, see the Houses of Parliament, or catch a glimpse of Downing Street.

To round off a fantastic day, everyone enjoyed dinner at Giraffe on the South Bank before crossing the river to Covent Garden for an evening performance of Disney's Hercules – a truly memorable experience!

The children have been outstanding ambassadors for our school throughout the trip, demonstrating enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour. We are incredibly proud of them and know they will return home with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

πŸš‚ This week in St Mary's Nursery, Bodmin, we have been enjoying the story The Train Ride! The children have loved talking about different journeys and the sights they might see along the way. πŸŒ³πŸ‘πŸŒ‰

🎨 We created our own trains using junk modelling materials and enjoyed role-playing train journeys with our friends.

πŸ”’ We practised ordering numbered train carriages, while ✏️ our name trains helped us develop our letter recognition and sequencing skills.

🧭 We also explored train tracks and used directional language such as forwards, backwards, around, and through.

It has been a fantastic week full of creativity, imagination, and learning through play! 🌟😊

After Easter, five tiny caterpillars arrived in our Reception classroom. The children loved watching them grow a little bigger each day before forming their cocoons. Yesterday, three beautiful butterflies finally emerged! We carefully released them into our garden area and the children were so excited to watch them flutter away. It has been a wonderful hands-on experience, helping the children learn about life cycles and how to care for living things. πŸ¦‹βœ¨

We were very lucky to have Steve and Hayley from Bodmin Leisure Centre Centre visit this week, where they ran some fantastic tennis sessions with Reception and Years 1, 2 and 3. The children had a brilliant time developing their skills, building confidence and enjoying lots of active fun on the court 🎾.

Thank you to Steve and Hayley for delivering such engaging sessions and inspiring our young players!
