Service leaver with an engineering background? Looking to transition into the renewable energy sector?

The Wind Academy is proud to be supporting the ECITB Military to Wind Programme, creating a credible pathway for service leavers into the offshore wind industry.

- 7 week work-ready programme
- Site-ready on completion
- Funded through a combination of ELCAS and an ECITB grant
- Supported by leading renewable energy employers
- Many partner companies offer guaranteed interviews
- Previous programmes achieved a 100% employment rate for learners who completed the training

The programme is open to service leavers with an engineering background who are living in, or planning to resettle in, Scotland.

Now Available: GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) at The Wind Academy

Following a recent audit we are new certified to deliver all GWO BTT Modules including the additional Installation module.

We can now provide training dates for our first BTT courses!

- BTT Bolt Tightening* – 18th May (1 day course)

- BTT Installation* – 19th + 20th May (2 day course)

*To complete these modules, learners must have already completed the BTT Mechanical module.

These courses are perfect for those wanting to move into Wind Turbine Technician roles and carry out tasks in Maintenance, Servicing and Installation (Electrical or Mechanical.)
