Tiantian Gao - Aged 12, performs at Yamaha Music School in Blyth on Sunday 13th September at 3pm!
Tiantian Gao, aged 12, is a dedicated young pianist who started learning the piano at age four. Since the age of nine, she has studied under Dr. Murray McLachlan, with regular guidance from Professor Christopher Elton, while studying music theory and composition with Dr. Michael Ball.
At age nine, Tiantian made her debut at Carnegie Hall, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 with the New York Sinfonietta. That same year, she was awarded the ATCL diploma with Distinction from Trinity College London, followed by the LTCL diploma with Distinction at age ten. By eleven, she achieved the FTCL diploma and earned a Distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 Theory.
Most recently, she was named the Overall Winner at the 2026 EPTA UK National Piano Competition and was selected as a finalist for the prestigious Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists in Germany. Her other achievements include First Prize at the London Chopin Competition, winning both the Claude Biggs Memorial Cup and the John Field Cup at Ireland’s Feis Ceoil as the youngest recipient, and First Prize at the Euregio Piano Award.
