Turton’s Tinies

Well that’s it…summer holiday care is over and it is time for this tired childminder to spend some time with her own tiny Turtons. We have had a blast, exploring National Trust sites, dancing, climbing at Lilidorei, bouncing, building, rockpooling, and many, many other fantastic adventures.

We have made new friends, rekindled old ones, came face to face with Bumblebee, and laughed until our bellies hurt…although that might have been the ice creams!

Last week was an emotional rollercoaster as we said goodbye to some of our children that are heading off to school in September. We are so proud to have been part of your early years journey and to have been able to see you grow into such wonderful, happy, imaginative and adventurous little people.

We also said a temporary goodbye to the children that are only with us during term time. We can’t wait to see you all in September, but please don’t grow up too much!

In the meantime, we are open for our summer childcare and will be out and about enjoying some (hopefully) hot weather!

First week back after Christmas ✅

We have loved exploring the new toys Santa brought to the setting - we have cooked in the toy kitchen, shopped for ingredients at the toy shop and made our 2026 calendars with fancy green handprints.

We also had lots of fun dancing with our friends at mini movers and using our bodies to climb, jump and slide at the Softplay!

We have been getting super festive this week as we count down to christmas…even the glitter tubes came out!

The children loved weighing and measuring the ingredients for our salt dough, they took turns to stir the mixture and add in some super red glitter. We rolled it, used a cookie cutter to make little stars and then baked them in the oven!

There was some fabulous creations when we made felt gingerbread people, with super painting and, yep, MORE GLITTER!!

We also used our handprints to make reindeer Christmas cards for our families, Santa faces with paper plates and even had time for a trip to playgroup and the park.
