It’s been a great first week of tutoring, finding out what students have been up to over the summer. It’s great that families are getting back out and about across the world.

I have welcomed a few new students this week and welcomed back students that I have worked with previously. It always amazes me how much some of the children grow in just 6 short weeks.

There has been lots of enthusiasm to get started and I am progressing well with teaching resources. There is plenty for students to get their teeth into. Particular work this week has involved some number rounding, statistical sampling and a bit of Pythagoras’. It’s great to get back into it.

I am excited for the start of the new school year, beginning for most on Monday. This year students attending tutorials and one-to-one lessons will have access to some fantastic resources on the two platforms I use, LMS365 and Showbie. These apps greatly enhance the user experience. The platforms streamline communication, assignments and assessments, making it easier for my students to excel in mathematics.

Showbie allows me to create an organised digital classroom where students can submit assignments, ask questions and access maths resources effortlessly. LMS365 allows me to create videos and interactive activities, where students can reinforce their learning.

Here’s to a successful year of mathematical exploration and growth - I, for one, can’t wait to get started.

I do some tutoring work for an organisation called Nudge Education. They observed one of my tutoring sessions last week. I was over the moon to get 'outstanding' in all categories. Such a boost to the confidence and good to know that another educator believes my students are getting the best education possible from me.
