Year 6 had a fantastic time on their school trip to St Chad’s Cathedral today! The children enjoyed taking part in a Mass and loved exploring the beautiful cathedral, learning about its history and architecture. Year 4 had a great time taking part in a CAFOD workshop today. 🌍

The children explored how money raised through CAFOD supports communities around the world, helping to provide clean water, education, healthcare and emergency aid to those who need it most. They showed great empathy as they learned about the importance of helping others.

We are very proud of their enthusiasm and understanding of how even small actions can make a big difference. 🌍🙏🌍

🌍💡 Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their CAFOD workshop today! They took on the role of project managers 📋, making important decisions about how to distribute money 💰 to different projects. The children learned about global issues 🌎, teamwork 🤝, and responsible decision-making ✅. It was a very informative and engaging session, and everyone had a fantastic time! 😊👏

Year 6 have enjoyed a CAFOD workshop this morning with our visitor from this wonderful charity. Pupils learned about the challenges facing people in Central America. They were tasked with spending £15,000 on projects to support a community in El Salvador, thinking about the cost of the project, the number of people it would benefit and how each project showed Catholic Social Teaching principles in action. Pupils then reported their ideas back to the class, using their oracy skills to explain their reasons for choosing particular projects.

It was a very thought-provoking morning that made pupils think about those people in developing nations who don’t have access to the same facilities and infrastructure that we do. 🇸🇻 🙏

The children were captivated as they journeyed through the solar system, learning fascinating facts about the planets, stars, and our moon. They also discovered more about the historic Moon Landing and the incredible achievements of space exploration.
