The Palace Day Nursery The Palace Day Nursery in Bletchley provides childcare for children from the ages of 3 months - 5 years old.

We are conveniently located in central Bletchley within just a two minute walk from the train station. The Palace Day Nursery is a warm, caring, stimulating and welcoming environment to all our children and families. By providing constant activities, we are building the foundation of a bright and healthy future for our Children. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with our parents, and work on settling in the children and families to our nursery by working with them in partnership
We are passionate about creating an enabling environment that has been carefully planned to follow our children’s needs and interests. Children’s learning occurs through curiosity, investigating, exploring and continuously discovering new things. Our Staff facilitate these learning experiences by supporting them as they develop their skills.

Leaf Printing in Little Gems 🍁

Our Little Gems have been exploring autumn through leaf printing! With some adult support, the children dipped leaves into orange and gold paint and pressed them onto paper, lifting them to discover the shapes and patterns they had made. Their creations are absolutely gorgeous! 🎨🍂

The children enjoyed feeling the leaves, watching the colours spread and seeing how each print was a little different. Dipping, holding and pressing the leaves gave them a chance to practise using their hands and fingers, while we talked together about the colours, textures and marks they could see.

What a lovely way to explore the changing season and create something beautiful! 🍁

🍂 The Leaf Thief in Sapphires 🍂🍁

Our book of the week has brought autumn to life! Today, the children found that the leaves had fallen from our autumn tree and had great fun putting them back on its branches.

Remembering how the wind blew the leaves away in the story, they huffed and puffed before trying a fan. They loved watching the colourful leaves swirl through the air! As we played, we explored new words including autumn, falling, changing and golden.

Skye used the leaves as colourful feathers, like the bird in the book, while Brody spun around saying, “I be a tree!” 🌳

To finish, Brody “read” the story to his friends, who listened beautifully. What a lovely morning of imagination, new words and autumn fun. Well done, Sapphires! 🍁

What a wonderful way to celebrate The Palace Day Nursery’s 40th birthday! 🎉

Our parents joined their children for a Sporty Scholars session with Coach Andre, bringing plenty of laughter and energy to our Stay and Play. One little one even reminded Dad: “You have to listen to what Coach says or you won’t know what to do!” 😆

Palace Day Nursery has been a learning hub for so many wonderful children over the years. In all that time, the nursery has had just two owners: our current owner, Anisha and Anne Riley for 20 years, previously. We were lucky enough to have them both join us for the celebrations. 🥰

Our 40th Birthday Celebrations – 🎉🎂

What a lovely morning we had at our birthday Stay and Play! Thank you to all the families who joined us to celebrate 40 years of The Palace Day Nursery.

There were lots of activities for the children and their parents to enjoy together, and it was wonderful to see everyone playing, chatting and making memories around the nursery. The children were so excited to share their nursery with you, and our staff loved being part of such a special morning.

A little look at The Palace Day Nursery all dressed up for our 40th birthday celebrations on Friday! 🎉🎂

👩‍🍳 When the Chef’s Away…

Today the children became our little chefs and made their own pitta pizzas! 🍕😃

After spreading the sauce, they chose from cheese, peppers, sweetcorn, pepperoni and salami. Some piled everything on, while others carefully selected and placed each ingredient – one piece at a time!

There was lots of counting, choosing, talking about colours and ingredients, and learning new words such as spread, sprinkle, topping and slice. Making their own tea also encouraged independence, confidence and making choices.

One child even created a pizza person with pepper arms and sweetcorn eyes! 😆

There was so much fun and conversation that pitta pizza day will now be a make-your-own event! 🙌🍕

Oobleck Sea Life Adventure! 🌊🐠

Three little explorers had lots of fun getting stuck into a messy oobleck adventure! They discovered that some sea life creatures were hiding beneath the squishy, gooey mixture and couldn’t wait to get their hands in and find them.

They squeezed, squished, scooped and splashed the oobleck around, excitedly searching for the hidden creatures. “I found one!” Jay called out as they discovered a sea animal hiding underneath. The boys enjoyed showing each other their finds and worked together to uncover more.

Before long, the oobleck had made its way onto their hands, arms and clothes, even their hair – and they thought this was hilarious! Their smiles, laughter and excitement showed just how much they were enjoying the sensory experience.

What started as a search for sea creatures soon became a fantastic messy adventure, full of curiosity, laughter and lots of sensory exploration! 🐙🦀🐚

🍪 Maisey makes gingerbread 🍪

Today in sapphires we read a book about making gingerbread biscuits, so we decided to see what ingredients we had upstairs and found we had the ingredients for shortbread.

Following on from the Childrens interest in the book and cooking we baked up a storm and made some delicious white chocolate shortbread.

We extended the Childrens vocabulary and introduced new words like “ crumbled and breadcrumbs”. We also used our mathematical language and actions to show that the chocolate had gone from big pieces to small pieces once we had smashed it up with the rolling pin.

The children used their hands to show big and then made a pincer movement to show small. We also spoke about how much of each ingredient we needed and looked at the numbers on the scales. Counting as we poured the ingredients into the bowl.

They had a lovely time baking and are really excited to eat their biscuits later on.

🎨 Exploring Colours

Our Little Gems have been busy discovering what happens when colours mix! 🌈

The children used their fingers to press, squeeze and move paint around inside sealed bags, watching with excitement as new colours and patterns appeared. This sensory activity helped strengthen the little muscles in their hands, ready for future drawing and writing.

We introduced words such as mix, squeeze, smooth, bright and change, and talked about what the new colours reminded us of – from green grass 🌱 to glowing flames 🔥.

A lovely way to explore, make connections and discover cause and effect through play! 🎨
