The children have had a fantastic first week in Year 1, they came in full of excitement and ready to learn. We have discussed rules and responsibilities, the children have came up with a classroom charter and have jobs they are responsible for within the classroom. They have enjoyed exploring all of the areas in the classroom and completing their “rainbow” challenges throughout the week. In PE the children are learning ball skills and have been practicing dribbling the ball.

Yesterday, Year 3 visited Gibside to take part in a range activities associated with their most recent science and geography topics. First, the children carried an orienteering task which required them to make use of maps and compasses to navigate their way around the country estate. After lunch, they carried out a pollinator-themed scavenger hunt, where they were required to locate/identify a range of plants and insects associated with the pollination process....
