We’re excited to be launching a brand-new Choir Club for students in Years 7–13!

Led by a talented specialist singing teacher, the club is perfect for students who already love to sing, as well as those who would like to build their confidence, develop their voice and enjoy singing as part of a group. 🎤🎵

🌟 NEW FOR KEY STAGE 3 – PROJECTS & PRODUCTION! 🌟

This week, we’re excited to have launched a brand-new subject at The Blandford School – Projects & Production!

Designed especially for our Key Stage 3 students, this new subject will help them develop valuable skills that will support them both in school and beyond, including:

⭐ Public speaking and oracy
⭐ Project management
⭐ Teamwork and collaboration
⭐ Confidence and self-awareness
⭐ Social responsibility
⭐ Working with and contributing to the wider community

Through a range of engaging topics and practical projects, students will have opportunities to find their voice, work together, take responsibility and make a positive contribution.

At The Blandford School, we want our students to leave with more than just qualifications. We want them to have the confidence, skills and experience to make a positive difference – in the workplace, their local community and wherever their future takes them.

🎭 A Christmas Carol – Live at the Corn Exchange, Blandford Forum

We’re delighted to share a fantastic local opportunity for our students and families to see A Christmas Carol brought to life at the Corn Exchange in Blandford Forum.

As A Christmas Carol forms part of our English curriculum, this one-man performance by Gerald Dickens, great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens, is a brilliant opportunity for students to experience the story beyond the classroom and support their understanding of the characters, themes and plot.

FACE Parent Talks – September Timetable

The September programme of FACE Parent Talks is here, with a fantastic range of online sessions available FREE to parents and carers at The Blandford School.

Topics this month include supporting healthy sleep, raising self-esteem, ADHD, understanding the teenage brain, autism, healthy screen use, anxiety, school anxiety and much more.

All regular sessions are delivered live online, with recordings available for 48 hours afterwards if you can’t attend live.

Parents and carers – please check your email for our exclusive school access code and details of how to book your sessions for free.

🎓 A Fantastic Start to the New Academic Year! 🎓

Today we were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 students and Year 12 Sixth Form students to The Blandford School – and what a marvellous first day they have had! ❤️

It has been wonderful to see our newest students settling in, meeting their teachers, making new friends and beginning the next exciting chapter of their journey with us. We hope they are heading home today feeling happy, confident and excited about the year ahead.

On Monday, we look forward to welcoming back all of our students as the whole school comes together for the start of the new academic year.

A new school year brings a fresh start – new goals, new challenges, new opportunities and the chance to build on previous successes. Whether students are continuing their journey with us, moving into an examination year or beginning Sixth Form, we want every young person to feel valued, challenged, supported and inspired to achieve their very best.

A huge thank you to all our staff who have worked incredibly hard to prepare for the new term and who helped make today such a positive start for our new Year 7 and Year 12 students.

We can’t wait to see our corridors and classrooms full again on Monday and to begin another exciting year together.

ICELAND GEOGRAPHY TRIP – PASSPORT & MEDICATION DROP-OFF REMINDER

A reminder for parents/carers of students travelling on the upcoming Iceland Geography Trip.

Mrs Muir will be available in Main Reception next week to collect student passports and any medication specified on the blue form at the following times:

📅 Monday 7 September: 3:25pm–4:00pm
📅 Wednesday 9 September: 8:15am–8:30am
📅 Friday 11 September: 3:25pm–3:45pm

Please ensure all medication is clearly named and passports are handed in without passport covers.

Parents/carers or students may drop items off and sign to confirm they have been received.

All documents will be stored securely and locked away before being returned to students by their group leader at the airport.

Thank you for your help in getting everything organised ahead of the trip! ✈️

🏆 THE BLANDFORD SCHOOL HALL OF FAME | KIERAN ANTHONY JACKSON 🏆

We’re delighted to welcome former student Kieran Anthony Jackson to The Blandford School Hall of Fame!

Kieran attended TBS from 2016–2023 and has since followed his own unique path to success. After working his way from dishwasher to chef while studying towards AAT qualifications, Kieran decided to follow his passion and build a business of his own.

Today, he is the owner of KJ Detailz, an award-winning car detailing business, working on everything from supercars to camper vans. 🚗✨

Kieran also credits Mr Vairy, Mr Wort, Mr Williams and Mr Clinton as teachers who made a real impact during his time at TBS.

💬 His advice to our current students:

“You don’t need to know what you want to do straight away. Keep experimenting, don’t be afraid to fail, and when you find something you love, work hard and make it yours.”

👏 Congratulations, Kieran! We’re very proud to celebrate your achievements and add you to our growing Hall of Fame.
