We’re thrilled to have been Highly Commended in the School House Magazine Awards 2026 in the Animal Support category! 🏆

Our animals are such a special part of life at Milton Abbey School, and we’re delighted to see the positive impact they have on our school community recognised.

School House magazine editor, Eleanor Doughty, praised Milton Abbey for its “wide range of animals including stick insects, mini Shetland ponies and house cats” describing them as a valued part of the community that help create “a calm, caring atmosphere.”

At Milton Abbey, being small means we can know our students as individuals, give everyone the opportunity to get involved in sport, build a strong sense of community and character, and develop genuine relationships with families.

It means more than small class sizes. It means more opportunities to be seen, to be heard, to try something new, to discover what you love and to become the very best version of yourself.

We’re delighted to be welcoming all our new pupils, and we’re equally excited to see our returning students as they join us for another fantastic year.

As we prepare for the start of term, here are a few important dates to help everyone get ready for next week:

👋Monday 7 September – Pilots’ Lunch and arrival of new pupils from 15:00
✅Tuesday 8 September – New Pupils’ Induction, 08:45–18:15, followed by the return of existing boarders
📚Wednesday 9 September – Start of Term for all pupils
⚽Thursday 10 September – First sport session from 14:30

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and get the new school year off to a wonderful start. See you all next week!

We are delighted to share that our Milton Abbey Weddings, Events & Golf Club have won the 2025-26 Education Destination Customer Excellence Award! 🏆

This fantastic achievement is a wonderful recognition of the hard work and dedication of our Events, Housekeeping, Grounds and Operations teams, who work throughout the year to make Milton Abbey a welcoming, memorable and special place to visit.

It is a privilege to share our beautiful grounds and facilities with visiting schools, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who chose to stay with us this year.

Join our Open Day on Saturday 10 October 💫

Milton Abbey School is the only truly full boarding school and day school in England offering the broadest possible selection of academic, vocational and sporting qualifications for children aged 13-18.

We start with a short presentation from the Headmaster, followed by tours in small groups with Third Form and Sixth Form pupils. You’ll take part in workshops with senior pastoral and academic staff, visit a boarding house, visit classrooms and experience some of the activities and facilities available.

After the tour, you’ll be able to meet with Heads of Department over a light lunch. We will also show you our Abbey and give you the chance to visit the School Farm and Stables, if this is something you’re interested in.
