We were delighted to welcome the Mini Vinnies from the schools across the The Parish of Guardian Angels, Blackpool to Our Lady of the Assumption this afternoon for a special gathering with our Upper KS2 SVP. While the planned tea with the SVP was replaced by juice, the spirit of the occasion remained the same: taking time for others, sharing experiences, and listening to one another in friendship.
Gathering on the Feast of the Most Holy Guardian Angels, our parish feast day, just a few days after the feast of St Vincent de Paul provided a wonderful opportunity for our Mini Vinnies in Year 5 and Year 6 to develop their friendships and reflect on how they can put their faith into action through service to others.
We thank all who attended and made the afternoon such a joyful celebration of faith, friendship, and service.

Today we celebrated as a school and parish community the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, the feast day of our parish. As a collective we reflected on God's loving care and protection as we gathered in church. It was wonderful to welcome back Fr. Frank to celebrate mass with us.
Together we celebrated our parish feast day with reverence and joy as we were reminded God loves each of us so much, He assigns every one a guardian angel to watch over us. The Parish of Guardian Angels, Blackpool

Thank you to our Year 6 pupils who led our first Parent Liturgy of the year this morning. The children reflected on Sunday's Gospel with great reverence, reminding us that God loves us all equally, no matter when we come to Him. Through their thoughtful prayers and reflections, we were invited to consider how we can show gratitude, kindness and generosity in our own lives.

Thank you also to all the parents and family members who were able to join us this morning. Your presence helped make this a truly special and prayerful occasion.

It has been fantastic to welcome all of our children back to school this week. We have been so impressed with how positively they have returned, showing enthusiasm, kindness and a real eagerness to learn.

Today, our school community came together to celebrate our Start of Year Mass, led by Fr Chris Loughran. During the Mass, Fr Chris shared the Gospel reading from Matthew 5:16:

"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

This powerful message will guide us throughout the academic year. We look forward to seeing our children shine brightly through their faith, learning and actions, living out our school values of being Open, Loving and Aspirational every day.
