Nursery had a fantastic time learning about people in our community who help us, with a visit from the Blackpool District Fire Service! 👩‍🚒 The children explored the fire engine, looked at the equipment and, best of all, had a go at using the fire hose to knock down cones! 💦🎯 A huge thank you to the firefighters for such a fun and memorable experience! ❤️🚒

Linked to their story of the week ‘Owl Babies’, Reception had the most amazing morning with Paul from Horus Birds of Prey! 🦉✨

The children had the incredible opportunity to meet three beautiful owls and were even lucky enough to hold the smallest owl, Flint, at the end! 🦉

What an unforgettable morning filled with wonder, excitement and lots of learning! 💫🙌

🍂✨ What a wonderful Autumn morning! Our Reception classes pulled on their wellies and set off to explore the forest school. The children loved spotting the signs of Autumn - from red, orange and brown leaves to shiny conkers and pinecones. 🌳🍁🌰

We were very excited to welcome a police officer to nursery as part of our People Who Help Us topic! 💙

She talked to the children about the different vehicles police officers use to help them do their important jobs. The children also had the opportunity to explore some of the equipment they use and even had a go at trying on the police uniform! 👮‍♀️🧢

To finish our exciting session, we enjoyed a story all about police officers catching a burglar! 📖🚔

The children had a fantastic time learning about the important work our police officers do to help and keep us safe. 💙

This week, our nursery children have been learning all about firefighters and the important job they do to help and keep us safe. 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

We’ve been getting creative and exploring shape as we designed and made our very own fire engines! 🚒🔺🟦⚪

As part of their ‘All About Me’ topic, Reception enjoyed bringing in some special items from home to share with their key worker groups 🏠💛

The children loved talking about why their chosen items were special to them and sharing their stories with their friends. It was a lovely opportunity to celebrate what makes each child unique, while developing their confidence, communication and listening skills. 🥰✨

1TK have been working as real historians! 🔎 They explored artefacts from the past, thinking about what we knew, what we could guess and what we wanted to find out.

Some artefacts were easy to recognise, while others were a little more mysterious! 🤔 We then compared them with the things we use today.

Fantastic historical thinking, 1TK! 🌟👏
