Preschool had a very special visit from Zoe a local librarian, who came to read us a lovely story. The children really enjoyed listening and sharing in the experience together 📚✨

We were also kindly gifted some BookTrust packs to help support a love of reading at home. These can be found in the preschool porch for all children to take home and enjoy with their families ❤️

💚 Our MiChild Team Takes on the Trinity Hospice Run 💚

Some of our fabulous team are getting ready to lace up their running shoes as they prepare to take part in the Trinity Hospice charity run this Sunday, 10th May. We are incredibly proud to support such a meaningful cause and cheer on our amazing MiChild runners every step of the way.

This particular charity is close to us all at moorevilla and in particular for our amazing Risings team leader and third in charge Vanessa who alongside her family has received the incredible support from the charity over the past coming months and in memory of her mum.

At moorevilla we recognise and celebrate nothing more than the importance of family and not just the ones we are born into but the ones who grow into. We pride ourselves at moorevilla and michild for the community and family we have grown and are forever grateful to have our vanessa as part of our Moorevilla and michild family.

💚Messy hands, creative minds💚

The children have been exploring colour mixing, using their fingers and hands, and experimenting with a variety of objects to create different textures and patterns. We talked about the marks we can make and how each one can be unique, we gave marks meaning and described what each detail was.

It’s been lovely to see their curiosity grow as they discover new ways to create, explore, and express themselves through their artwork.

We’re excited to share that outside nursery we have refreshed our lending library and seating area 📚✨

There is now a lovely range of books available for you to borrow, take home, and return when you’re ready. You’re also very welcome to add any preloved books to share with others.

On the bottom shelf, you’ll find our take-home bags which will be changed each month with new exciting home learning and activity packs. This month we invite you to fill a bag with items that represent your little one or your family. This could reflect your culture, favourite things, traditions, or anything that makes your family unique. We have also added this to the newsfeed on Famly and would love for any parents/carers willing to share and come in to the setting and support bringing new experiences 💚🧡

We can’t wait to learn more about each other and celebrate the wonderful diversity within our nursery community. ✨

Tonight, we were proud to have 124 of our amazing team members come together for our Twilight Safer Sleep Training, led by our early years quality manager Carmel!

The session focused on the latest guidance, ensuring we continue to do everything we can to keep the children in our care safe.

It was fantastic to see such strong engagement throughout the evening. Thoughtful questions, shared experiences, and a real sense of teamwork. Our team showed their commitment to being the very best they can be for the children and families we provide care to each day.

It is extremely important to us at Michild we do all we can to keep children safe and we strive for the best outcomes and practices. Including robust policies and procedures, followed by training, to ensure these are followed throughout our practices; which we can truly see in each of our nurseries.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed and thank you to our senior team for putting on this training and allowing us the opportunity to connect with our wider teams and continue to grow, learn and develop.

Nature’s Little Designers 🍃✨

We made our own nature jewellery!

Our preschoolers have taken a big interest in dressing up and adding accessories, so we explored this by creating our own unique jewellery. The children collected leaves, used tools safely such as hole punchers and scissors, and carefully threaded their pieces onto string. We also used pipe cleaners to create rings and bracelets.

It was wonderful to see their independence and pride in their creations, as well as their teamwork, helping and encouraging one another throughout the activity.
