⚡ Meet Lightning – our Flexibility Hero!⚡️

Sometimes things don't quite go to plan ...

- The park is closed.
- It's raining when we wanted sunshine.
- Our favourite cup is in the dishwasher.
- We have to stop playing when we're having fun.

For little people, little changes can sometimes bring BIG feelings. 💛

Lightning helps our Little Superheroes discover that being flexible isn't just something we do with our bodies .....

We can learn to be flexible with our thoughts too.

When something changes, we can pause, take a breath and think ...

⚡ “That's not what I expected .... what could we do instead?”

We're not trying to make difficult feelings disappear!

We're helping our Little Superheroes gradually discover that change can feel tricky AND we can learn ways to cope with it.

That's Lightning's superpower. ⚡💛

Flexible body. Flexible thinking. Growth Mindset Little Superhero. 🦸‍♂️

💛 “They're just playing ... 💛

But look a little closer. 👀🦸‍♀️

🦸🏽‍♀️When a Little Superhero tries again after something goes wrong ....

💪 They're building resilience.

🦸🏿When they tell us they're cross, worried or sad ...

💬 They're learning to express their emotions.

🦸🏿‍♂️When they wait, share or help somebody else...

🌈 They're developing relationships and empathy.

🦸🏽‍♀️When they move, breathe or find something that helps them feel calmer ...

🧊 They're beginning to understand their own body and emotions.

🦸🏿And when they proudly say ...

“I DID IT!”

🌟 They're growing in confidence and self-belief.

At Little Superheroes we LOVE to play.

😴🦸‍♀️ Even superheroes need to slow down sometimes .... 😴🦸🏿‍♂️

Meet Ice – our Balance Hero 🦸🏽‍♀️

Our little ones can have busy bodies, busy minds and some very BIG feelings.

Ice helps us remember that alongside all the running, jumping, playing and exploring, it's good to have moments when we simply...

STOP. BREATHE. RESET.

🦸🏽‍♀️Take three superhero breaths together

🙌 Reach up high and breathe IN...

🧊 Slowly lower your arms and breathe OUT...

No need for perfect stillness.

Just a little moment of calm and connection together. 💛

Because learning when our body needs to slow down is a superpower too 💥💫⭐️

🎨🌈 If your feeling had a COLOUR today ... what would it be? 🎨🌈

Would you be ...

❤️ Red and full of energy?

💙 Blue and feeling calm?

💛 Yellow and cheerful?

💚 Green and ready for a rest?

Or perhaps your feeling is a completely different colour!

There are no wrong answers.

Giving little ones playful ways to explore feelings can help them begin to recognise and express what's happening inside.

Grown-ups can join in too!

“My feeling is _____ today because _____.”

What colour are you and your Little Superhero feeling today? 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Here's a FREE little prompt sheet to help your little ones explore BIG feelings and emotions. You can also find it in our book Little Superhero BIG Powers available on Amazon. This book explores how different coloured Superhero capes can help children through role play. Enjoyv ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
