🌟 That’s a wrap on the 2025–2026 academic year! 🌟

What an incredible year it has been at Warbreck! As we close another successful academic year, we’re reflecting on an amazing final half term and celebrating everything our pupils have achieved.

🐴 Equine Assisted Therapy & Learning
This term saw the introduction of our Equine Assisted Therapy and Teaching programme, expertly delivered by our Equine Assisted Teacher, Cath. Already, we’ve seen pupils grow in confidence, resilience, communication and emotional regulation through these unique therapeutic experiences.

🦙 Farm Therapy Continues to Grow
Our partnership with Lowlands Alpaca Therapy Farm has gone from strength to strength, with the summer bringing some exciting new arrivals, including baby goats and rabbits! Our farm-based learning and therapy continues to provide opportunities that simply can’t be replicated within four classroom walls.

🌿 The Warbreck Discovery Programme
Learning by doing has been at the heart of everything we’ve achieved. Our Discovery Programme has been in full flow, with pupils developing practical skills, teamwork, independence and confidence through a huge range of outdoor learning experiences and real-life challenges.

🏆 Annual Awards Evening
On 17th July, we welcomed pupils, parents, carers and families to our Annual Awards Evening at The Imperial Hotel. The room was absolutely packed—standing room only—as we came together to celebrate the achievements, progress and determination of our incredible young people. It was a truly special evening.

🚜 Warbreck Farmers Awards
On 20th July, our Warbreck Farmers celebrated their own achievements at Lowlands Alpaca Therapy Farm. Charlotte presented the awards before everyone enjoyed a fantastic BBQ kindly provided by the farm. A huge thank you to Charlotte and everyone at Lowlands for their continued partnership and unwavering support in helping us deliver life-changing outcomes for our pupils.

🌊 Adventure Awaits!
Also on 20th July, twelve of our pupils took part in an exciting end-of-year adventure at Wild Shore Blackpool. From tackling the inflatable aqua park to taking on a range of adrenaline-filled water-based activities, our young people demonstrated incredible courage, resilience, teamwork and determination. It was fantastic to see pupils stepping outside of their comfort zones, encouraging one another and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

🏃‍♂️ Sports Day 2026
Our final day of learning on 21st July saw us head to Stanley Park for our annual Sports Day. It was fantastic to see pupils, parents, carers and families cheering each other on throughout the day. The smiles, determination and encouragement shown by everyone perfectly summed up what Warbreck is all about.

🤝 Review Day
Today (22nd July) marks our final Parent, Carer and Professionals Review Day. These meetings are such an important part of our provision, allowing everyone involved in each young person’s journey to reflect on progress, celebrate success and plan together for an even brighter year ahead.

💙 We couldn’t be prouder of every pupil, every member of staff and every family who has been part of our journey this year.

And we’re not stopping there…

🚍 2026–2027 promises to be our most exciting year yet as we prepare to open our brand-new Primary Provision—the first provision of its kind, delivering therapeutic, outdoor and project-based learning from our incredible farm setting.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Warbreck this year.

Have a fantastic summer—we’ll see you in September!

Today we were pleased to welcome Chris Webb MP to our Warbreck school.

It was a valuable opportunity to show him the work our team does every day to support young people, helping them build confidence, feel understood and access the education they deserve.

What stood out most was the time Chris took to listen, not only to staff, but to the young people themselves. He met them on their level, asked questions and showed a genuine interest in their experiences.

For organisations like ours, partnership matters. We need people who are willing to listen, understand the pressures on children and families, and advocate for change where it is needed.

Thank you, Chris, for taking the time to visit and engage so thoughtfully.

🧠 Quiz Time with the Quiz Masters! 🏆

This week, our KS4 pupils put their knowledge to the test in our whole-school quiz, and what a brilliant session it was!

A big thank you to our Quiz Masters – Jack, who led on the questions, and Jez, who delivered the ever-popular picture round, keeping everyone on their toes throughout.

The quiz was packed with questions drawn from across the curriculum, including history, art, sport, technology, and general knowledge. It’s always great to see pupils making those connections and applying what they’ve been learning in a fun, engaging way.

There was plenty of teamwork, healthy competition, and a lot of laughter along the way. A big congratulations to the winning team led by Ben – who were very pleased with their well-earned goodies…

…although Ben was slightly less impressed when he realised he was the one who had to go out and buy them! 😄

Well done to all pupils who took part – a fantastic example of purposeful enjoyment in action!

A brilliant day out at Fairhaven Lake as part of our Warbreck Discovery Programme 🌊🌿

Our pupils embraced every part of the experience, exploring the lake and gardens, spotting wildlife, and taking part in environmental activities that help them understand the importance of looking after our local spaces.

One of the highlights was visiting the iconic Spitfire display, where pupils had the chance to learn about its history and significance, bringing an extra layer of meaning to the day.

From teamwork and independence to curiosity and reflection, it was great to see so many of our young people fully engaged, building confidence and enjoying learning beyond the classroom.

A fantastic example of purposeful enjoyment in action.

A few words from Sammy…

A few months ago, after taking my daughter to a dance competition, I started thinking about Warbreck I found myself wondering whether we could ever give them the opportunity to dance on a stage in front of thousands of people.

Then I remembered something I used to do as a child… Schools Alive. If you went to a Blackpool school, you probably know how big it is.

So I went to our headteacher, Mark, and asked what he thought. Of course, he agreed.

When I first asked the pupils if they wanted to take part, they were nervous. They weren’t sure if they could do it and didn’t fully believe in themselves.

But after a few words from me and Courtney- who was amazing at helping and organising with me—they decided not just to take part, but to make it their own. They helped choreograph the dance, chose the songs, and practised every single day.

Then last night was the night. The pupils arrived at Winter Gardens at 6pm full of nerves, but mostly excitement. They watched the first few dances… and then it was their time to shine.

They stepped onto that famous stage and absolutely smashed it. Their personalities shone through. One pupil delivered a beautiful speech about the school and what we were doing, and then the rest danced their hearts out. Tears were shed. Me and Courtney even joined in dancing with them 🤣

Our piece was all about being yourself, being unique, and shining as the person you are—and that is exactly what our pupils did. Pupils who have been out of education, pupils who may never have been given this chance because of their needs, up on that stage, dancing with confidence.

As a staff team, we couldn’t be prouder of them and everything they achieved 🫶🏼 I want to say thank you to all the staff that supported especially Courtney and all the parents/carers for giving up their time yesterday to bring the pupils and come watch!
We already can’t wait for the next one ✨

🧡Today we say goodbye to our School Business Manager, Karen, as she begins an exciting new chapter in Scotland with her husband.
If you’ve ever phoned the school, received a letter home, or needed support behind the scenes, it’s very likely Karen was the friendly voice or the person making it all happen. She has given so much to Warbreck, always going above and beyond for our pupils, families and staff.
Karen has been a huge part of our school community, and as a staff team she will be greatly missed. While we know this is an exciting opportunity for her, it won’t be the same without her here.
We’ll definitely stay in touch — but we will miss you so much, Karen. Wishing you all the happiness and success in your new adventure 💫

✨ First Week Back at Warbreck Middle and High School ✨
Our pupils have settled back into school life brilliantly this week, and we couldn’t be prouder of them 👏💛
Throughout the week, pupils have taken part in a wide variety of activities linked to our curriculum, including 🌲 Forest School, 🏊 swimming, 🦙 a visit to Lowland Alpaca Farm, and 🌤️ outdoor activity sessions. These experiences support learning, independence, and personal development in meaningful and engaging ways.
Alongside this, pupils have been busy in the classroom 📚✏️ exploring this half term’s BTEC which is all abotu Science 🔬, taking part in mock exams 📝, making sausage rolls 🥐, and enjoying maths ➗ and English 📖 lessons. Pupils also took part in sensory lessons 🌈 and enjoyed a trip to a local college 🎓 to begin exploring post-16 options. This is just a snippet of everything pupils have been up to.
It has been a fantastic start to the half term, and we are super proud of our pupils 🌟
We can’t wait to see what the rest of this half term has in store!
🧡🧡🧡
