This morning some of the toddlers explored making marks with some of the natural materials we collected on our walks with our families, we spoke about how the materials felt, where we found them, we mixed yellow and red to create orange and enjoyed getting very messy! 🪾🎨🍂🫟

Today, preschool took a little walk to Aldi to look for some Halloween decorations — and we found LOADS of spooky things! 👻🎃

Our room is going to be filled with Halloween spirit, ready for our spooky month! We can’t wait to show you everything we create and all the exciting decorations we put up ready for our Stay & Play at the end of the month! 🧙‍♂️🧛‍♂️🧟‍♂️💀

The preschools have also bought some small pumpkins for us to explore in our home corner over the next few weeks. 🎃 We’ll be using them to encourage lots of imaginative and sensory play!

Autumn is officially in full force! 🍁🍂🎃🪾🍄‍🟫

🍁Autumn take home bags🍁

Both Preschool and toddlers will be taking an autumn bag home at their next session! 🍂
This bag includes a paint pot, paint brush and pumpkin which they are able to paint and keep 🎃

The contents of the bag will help you gather the autumn goodies which we will use and explore at nursery. We can’t wait to see pictures of the pumpkins you have painted.

What an incredible week we have had in the toddler room! 🤩
We have been exploring our topic of “all about me”
We started the week by making a den, talking about how the den made us feel cosy and calm then using torches to create shadows of our body parts, we then had a nice calming story of “the gruffalo’s granny”
We have been noticing the effect exercise has on our bodies in our football session using words such as “tired” and “hot.”
We baked yummy banana cakes talking about our likes and dislikes.
Looked into a mirror and spoke about our features while we made a self portrait, explored our senses playing in gloop, playing with musical instruments and dancing with mini-movers.
We have finished the week with a lovely Autumn walk collecting conkers and finding huge leaves! 🍂🍁

🐯📚 Introducing… Talk Time with Tizzy the Tiger! 🐯

We’re excited to share a brand-new special activity we’ve introduced in Pre-School — “Talk Time”! 💬✨

Our sessions are designed to support and develop children’s communication and language skills in a fun, relaxed and engaging way. Through playful activities, the children are developing:

👂 Listening and attention skills
🤝 Turn-taking and sharing
🧠 Memory and recall
💬 Speech and language development
📖 New vocabulary and understanding

And, of course, the children have a very special friend to help us along the way… Tizzy the Tiger! 🐯❤️

Each Talk Time session includes two different activities, followed by singing and action time, and finishes with a special story all about Tizzy and his adventures. 📚🎶

The children are encouraged to listen, talk, remember, share ideas and take turns — all while having lots of fun!

We’re already loving seeing the children’s confidence grow as they join in with Tizzy and his Talk Time adventures! 🐯🌟

We can’t wait to see where Tizzy takes us next! 💛

Last Friday preschool had their last goodbye at bounce and play 🎉
They had the most amazing time, it was sad to see them for the last time, but we are so proud of their achievements whilst with us and to see how much they will thrive in big school📚
Thank you to all the parents for putting your trust in us. We are so grateful to have been a part of their early years journey !!

Preschool 😁
We have had an amazing week in preschool starting our new transport topic.🚗
We started off the week making our own trains with our names on them increasing our fine motor skills and control with pencils.🚂
We had a car wash tuff tray out all week and also our own made “cement” sand tray with diggers and other vehicles.💦
We then played a dice and colour game helping with our number recognition.1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣
Next we used our scissor skills to make our own monster trucks.🚛
We also made our own boats and painted them ourselves.⛵️
To finish off the week to blow off some steam we went to the park which all the children loved.🛝
