What a week Pre school has had!!
🐰🐷🐄🐴🪿🐔🪳🐍🐌🕷️🐸

Pre school had the pleasure of visiting Ridgeway Farm! Archway travel saved the day helping us get down a narrow road! Thank you!! The children absolutely loved seeing the free roaming birds, such as a Turkey, Guinea Fowl, Roosters and ducks! The children had the pleasure of feeding the goats and sheep, then they pet the rabbits and Guinea Pigs! Next the children enjoyed a picnic lunch. Shortly after that they looked at the chicken eggs and quail eggs. We looked at the different sizes!! To round up a lovely day, the children went strawberry picking! 🍓 🍓 🍓

Pre school then had a surprise visit to our sister nursery West Park, where the Zoo Lab visited with some amazing animals! The children learnt all about the hissing cockroaches special super powers, and had the privilege of holding him! Next they looked at a giant snail, followed by a tarantula, and then a snake!!! The children loved holding the snake and looking at the beautiful colours. The last thing they were able to see was a frog which couldn’t stop jumping around the room making all the children laugh!🐸

We have had an amazing week and can’t wait to see what we get up to next week!😁

Better Start Smile 🦷 🪥 😷

Last week we had the privilege of Better start smile coming in to pre school talk to us all about our teeth and how important it is to look after them!

We had a range of different activities which taught us about how to clean our teeth, what to use and what things maybe good for our teeth or bad for our teeth.

The children loved exploring the activities and even dressing us at the tooth fairy!

We were kindly left a present which included a toothbrush, toothpaste and a sand timer of two minutes as that’s how long we need to brush!

⚽⚽What a Fun morning in the garden for the babies,. We have been learning new skills with the football's, playing along side our friends and turn taking ⚽⚽

This week in preschool we have focussed on vets 🐾
We changed our role play area into our very own vets which all of the children loved. We had many different teddy bears to be our “patients” at the vets and the children enjoyed using the stethoscope on them.🩺
We had different ways in which the children could save animals throughout the week. First of all we had animals taped down on the small world which the children had to set free. We then had animals stuck in gloop for the children to get messy in whilst saving the animals. Lastly we had animals stuck in ice which the children had to try to break and melt.🐟
We used our threading skills to make our pets a collar using pasta and pipe cleaners. We then painted portraits of our own pets. Next we baked our own paw print biscuits which the children loved making and taking home with them. The children also used their scissor skills when making their own vet kits.🐶
To finish off the week we went for a walk to the real life vets and then couldn’t resist a trip to the shop to buy some new garden toys.☀️
We are excited to see what we get up to next week.😀

This week preschool have focussed on fire fighters and builders for our people who help us theme.👷👨‍🚒
The children were lucky enough to get a visit from a real life fire engine and fire fighters. During this they all had the opportunity to ask them questions about what they do and even got a chance to sit in the fire engine !🚒
We have spent lots of time in the sun pretending to be fire fighters using water guns and hoses.💦
We turned our role play area into a fire station where the children were able to dress up wearing the fire fighter hats which they all loved. 👩‍🚒
We also made our own buildings using lollipop sticks whilst talking about how important builders are and how they help us.🧱
We are all excited for next week and can’t wait to show you what we get up to 😁

Our new topic is people who help us! Last week we were focusing on police and teachers. 👮👮 🧑‍🏫 👩‍🏫

Pre school have enjoyed exploring our police station, making police badges and hats. We have made lots of mark and beginning to write recognisable letters. 🚔🚨🚓

We also took a walk to a primary school to show the children where they/some of their friends may be going once they leave pre school! It was lots of fun exploring the local environment and learning about schools and teachers who help us learn and help keep us safe! We then ended the week by making teacher’s lanyards! 📓📚📖🖊️📝✏️🖍️

Preschool☀️
We have had a great week this week focusing on everything mathematics! Lots of activities and enhancements based around numbers and qualities🔢 we have also looked at different sizes (big and small) and using different words such as massive and tiny.
We have done lots of baking, making banana cakes and our very own pizza based on our likes and dislikes🍕
We can’t wait to start our new topic next week which is ‘people who help us’👮‍♂️

This week in preschool we have been focusing on healthy eating 🍉 following on from the story the very hungry caterpillar🐛

We have had lots of fun activities such as: making fruit kebabs, happy and unhappy teeth, fruit and vegetable faces, fruit painting and fruit smoothies🥝All these activities sparked lots of questions about healthy foods.
The children have also been able to try new foods that are healthy and unhealthy which the hungry caterpillar eats on Saturday. Reminding children it’s okay to eat treats but in small quantities, making sure we look after our teeth🦷
