Today Oak class had a try at making chocolate beetroot cake on the campfire. We used beetroot we had grown in our polytunnel and got to test out our Dutch oven. While we were waiting for the cake to cook we did some tidying up and weeding in our seating area. We also used the time to think of ideas to improve this area and make it into a sensory space.

Sycamore had a very busy morning. They started off weeding Lucy's area and the allotment. Then we had a visit from the United Utilities team and Murpheys, who came in to talk to the children about the work going on in the local area. They also explained to the children how water was cleaned and carried out a filtration experiment. We finished off the morning planting some sweat peas in Lucy's area and sweetcorn in our allotment before harvesting some of our radishes to try.

Eco Club did a great job weeding and tidying our Memorial Garden at the front of school. They then planted some of our plants that we had grown from seed.

This morning, Maple have had a fabulous workshop learning about the Maya. We learnt about aritifacts, looked at the hierarchy of the Maya tribes and learnt about sacrifices. As well as much more.
Well done Maple, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
