This Refugee Week, the theme is courage.
It's a word that means the same thing, wherever you're from, whatever language you speak.
The strength to keep going and the bravery to start again.
Шֆ Courage. شجاعة. Шmut. Ujasiri. Mut. Cesaret. 🌍
Children who arrive in the UK seeking sanctuary are courageous. And the carers who welcome them show a quiet display of courage all their own. Opening their homes and hearts to a young person who's travelled a very long way to feel safe.

The 15th-21st June is World Refugee Week.
Across the country there are children and young people who are building new lives in new homes. Learning, growning making friends and finding their feet. One day at a time.
We couldn't be prouder to stand beside all the carers who make those fresh starts possible.

With Father's Day coming up this Sunday, we know it isn't always the easiest time for a care experienced young person. Father's Day can stir up a lot of emotions. Maybe your child misses their dad. Maybe they have mixed feelings that feel tangled and hard to process.
There's no perfect way to handle it but we've put together some gentle ways to support your young person this weekend. 💛

Nobody starts out knowing how to support a child with complex needs. But with the right support, you can learn. You might surprise yourself with the patience and strength you didn't know you had.
Our community of foster carers are advocates, champions and experts in the needs of the children they care for.
This Carers Week, here's to everyone discovering just how much they're capable of. 💛

For many care experienced young people, childhood has meant responsibility instead of play. Maybe they cared for a parent or looked after younger siblings.
This Carers Week we're celebrating every young person and reminding them that it's okay to just be a kid. It's okay to let someone else carry the load. 💛

💛 We want to thank every one of our foster carers and let you know just how much you mean to us and to the children and young people you look after. The difference you make can't be measured but it's felt every single day.

📚 It's exam season and a little support goes a long way.
Whether that's a quiet study space, some all important brain fuel in the form of a home cooked meal or simply being there when it's tough, the small stuff is what really matters.

Pride is all about freedom, the freedom to be honest about who you are and who you love.
That's something we hope all our carers and every care experienced young person feels too.
This month, we celebrate all of the carers, all of the young people and all of the staff who stand beside them, this month and every month.
🌈Happy Pride🌈
