It was a real pleasure to host 1st Catforth Scouts at Blackpool & The Fylde College, LEHQ campus for an evening of STEM activities.
The pack fully engaged and showed great enthusiasm & skill in the individual tasks the team at LEHQ presented to the group.
The scouts took on Laser etching, copper tube manipulation, in the shape of hearts ❤️ which was warming!!!
And an exciting and informative session in the LEHQ nuclear simulation suite.
A huge thank-you to Maddie, Jordan & Kevin for giving up their Wednesday evening to help facilitate this event.

We’ve had some real “ star “ welders at LEHQ campus this week 😊
It’s been a pleasure to host some of our degree apprentices from Vodafone sub-marine for a few days practical appreciation training.
We ran some short practical sessions to give the degree apprentices a taste of TIG & MIG welding, Tube manipulation, & some electronic circuit building.
Thanks to Vodafone for helping facilitate this and to the apprentice’s themselves for being so enthusiastic about their training 😊

Great to have BDR Thermea/BAXI Heating back at LEHQ this week for more specialist welding training.
Philip & John, both development engineers, have spent the week with us, getting to grips with thin sheet stainless steel TIG welding.
I’m sure they would agree it was a steep learning curve.
It was a pleasure to have them at LEHQ and they both made great progress.
