Good afternoon families,
With the start of the World Cup yesterday, I wanted to share the darker side of the World Cup with you all, with a plea that this World Cup we all support our community. Statistics gathered show that there is a 38% increase in domestic abuse instances during football events that England take part in.
Everyone should be able to experience the game and feel safe this summer.
If youβre worried about abusive behaviour at home, help is available.
If you notice something doesn't seem right, check in with that person.
With this in mind, please find the following numbers available for support:
Refuge - 08082000247
Fylde Coast Women's Aid (women) - 01253 596699
ManKind Initiative (men) - 08088001170
Galop (LGBT+) - 08009995428
999 and 101 are also available to support you
If, as is always the case here at Mereside, any person or family need any support, please speak with myself or Mrs Taylor-Royston.
