🐌 The Snail and the Whale 🐋

This week in 2-4's we have been loving the story of The Snail and the Whale. We enjoyed a mix of the sand tray and some bubble wrap with blue paint to make the water. We enjoyed reading the story with our practitioners and then using the props in our tuff tray to reeanct the story to sequence the story.

We enjoyed popping the bubbles and splatting the paint in the tray with our friends and using the sticks to write our letters for our names too to mimic the snail writing on the rock.

🦜 Bird Feeding 🦜

This week in 2-4's, we have been learning all about birds. We have enjoyed learning about all of the different birds that we are able to find in Blackpool such as seagulls and pigeons. We have liked to look at the different colours of the birds that we can find too such as the bright toucans and peacocks.

Whilst we were outside, we were talking about what birds like to eat, this sparked an interest in wanting to make bird feeders for the birds to enjoy the seeds. We chose the different tubes we wanted, then spread some lard onto it with a knife. We then sprinkled some bird seed onto the feeder for the birds to eat. We had a lot of fun.

Staff Appreciation

Today the staff Team have a enjoyed some little treats to have on their break as a little thank you for all that they do for our children, Families and each other.

Ice Cream Seaside Station Role Play

The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Ice Cream Seaside Station sand area. They engaged in imaginative play by taking on different roles, including ice cream sellers, customers, and holidaymakers visiting the seaside. The children confidently used language associated with the theme, such as ordering flavours, discussing prices, and serving customers.

They demonstrated developing mathematical skills by counting scoops, recognising numbers on price lists, Children showed good turn-taking and cooperation as they worked together to manage the ice cream station and respond to customer requests.

Sunday 2nd August 10am - 1pm

This morning, myself and some of the staff team, joined our sister nurseries and senior team on embarking on some bespoke outdoor training, looking at the Potential of outdoor learning for our children.

During our morning we had the opportunity to look at the importance of our children accessing the outdoor environments in all weathers and the learning opportunities that are available for them to embrace, we spoke about the children have the opportunities to connect to nature, as well as how it can support the children's health and wellbeing.

Here at Little Angels we are dedicated in ensuring we are providing opportunities to ensure our children have the opportunities to succeed to their full potential.

🪻 Flower Playdough 🪻

Today, our 2-4 children have been loving exploring the playdough. We added some different coloured flowers and we enjoyed telling our practitioners what they smelt and felt like. We enjoyed kneading the flower petals into the dough and using our pincer grips to dig them out again.

We also enjoyed sprinkling the flower petals atop our playdough, it was like sprinkles on an ice cream! One of our friends even said that the flowers smelt like Mummy's perfume.

It's the final day of Smile Month 😁

We have been focusing on looking after our teeth with our children, as we have been sharing a range of stories together, talking about brushing teeth, and visiting the dentist.

The children have enjoyed reminding us of the important steps of health teeth.
