Learning Through Play 🌟

our babies have become mini explorers, as they enjoyed a range of exciting activities, including magnet exploration, sensory sand play, role play and musical instruments.

Through these experiences, children developed their curiosity, creativity, communication, confidence and problem-solving skills, while strengthening their fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Exploring magnets introduced early science and cause-and-effect learning, while sand provided a wonderful sensory experience. Role play encouraged imagination and social development, and musical instruments supported listening, rhythm, movement and self-expression.

Most importantly, the children were learning through hands-on, meaningful and enjoyable play.

✂️ Cutting Creations ✂️

Over the past few weeks, our Pre-School and Toddlers have enjoyed getting creative and cutting with scissors! We have really enjoyed enhancing our hand eye co-ordination and working on our control with the scissors too. We liked cutting out different shapes, animals and pictures with the help of our grown ups.

We enjoyed being Confident Communicators and telling our practitioners how we safely hold the scissors do that we don't get hurt or injure our friends.

Brilliant Bookworm – We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

The children enjoyed a ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ themed activity in the tuff tray. The children explored the different parts of the story through sensory play, using a range of materials to represent the grass, river, mud, forest and snowstorm.

The children listened carefully to the story and were encouraged to join in with familiar phrases and actions. They used the small-world resources to retell the story, moving the characters through the different environments and talking about what happened next.

This activity supported the children’s communication and language skills, imagination, storytelling and understanding of sequence. It also encouraged the children to develop their vocabulary as they described the different textures and settings they encountered.

The children particularly enjoyed becoming brilliant bookworms by exploring the story in a hands-on and imaginative way, bringing the book to life through play
