Funding!!!
How does funding work at Thornton Preschool Playgroup ?
Children can either do term time 38 weeks or full time which is 49 weeks.
Sessions are 8 till 5 or 9 till 3.
(Preschool closes all bank holidays, last week in August and 2 weeks at Christmas - you are not charged when we are closed)
You can use funding for all the hours we are open, so if you are doing an 8-5 day then you can use funding between 8-5 there are no non funded hours so all you pay for are snacks and meals.
Snacks and meals: are available and we purchase the onsite school meals and pass that on at the same cost, if you prefer you can bring a "ready to eat" packed lunch.
Extra hours: you can add extra hours to any surplus funding hours or you can pay for extra sessions.
Nappies, wipes, suncream: we ask you to supply your own for your child.
Extra activities: any extra activities such as Mini Moverz Poulton are paid for by preschool, we do not charge parents for any extra activities.
An example of what 30 hours funding would get you?
2 full days per week 8-5 full time plus
1 day 9-3 full time
£16.50 per week for meals
(£5.50 per day for breakfast, 2 snacks and hot school cooked lunch and desert)
We do not charge registration fees or take deposits.
Our age range is from 2 up until start of reception and work in a mixed age range with small break out groups for specific learning such as phonics, dough disco and music and we use a 1:2 ratio for painting and crafts so no child is rushed and can set their own pace.
We are a traditional family orientated preschool setting, helping children become independent learners with a strong sense of self using their personal interests to embed skills needed for pre writing , fine and gross motor skills, personal skills and to create sparks that fire their imagination.
