So proud of this beauty 🥺🤍
Today is Day 1 of Skyla’s lash course and officially her first little step into the beauty industry.
Her plan is to offer lash extensions alongside her studies in forensic psychology, before hopefully going on to study law. Beauty and brains, quite literally 😂🎓
A lot of you who have followed me for a while will know just how difficult Skyla’s journey through mainstream education has been.
There have been times when school made her question herself, her abilities and where she fitted in. Times when the traditional education system simply didn’t work for her, no matter how intelligent or capable she was.
But those struggles never have - and never will - define her.
Watching her walk into something completely new today feels extra special because of everything she’s had to overcome to get here 🥺
From the teeny little 2 year old who blew my ears off every second of every day 😂 to a 16 year old finding her own path, discovering what she enjoys and building a future that actually looks like HER
And if there was ever an industry made for someone who can talk non-stop, she’s found it😂
I hope she always remembers that struggling in one environment does not mean you aren’t capable of thriving in another.
There is more than one route to becoming successful. More than one way to learn. More than one version of what a bright future is supposed to look like.
She is strong. She is smart. She is capable. And she genuinely has one of the kindest souls to grace this earth.
Whatever direction her life eventually takes her, I hope she never allows a difficult chapter to convince her she can’t write an incredible story.
