A superb Tuesday at Lotus! Local author, Nathan Parker came to visit us and delivered five individual workshops to Key Stage 3 for our English lessons.
We enjoyed listening to his poetry, hearing Nathan read out powerful paragraphs from his prize-listed novels and creating our own poetry as a class or individually.
A day to remember!

Last week in English, KS3 studied WW1 poetry by Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen on the run up to Remembrance Day. Both soldiers shared months at Craiglockhart Hospital where they became great companions. Sassoon became a mentor for Owen and his poetry and frequently listened his advice on the vocabulary he should use to portray the harsh realities of War.
Here are some diary entries from KS3 for our Language Competition this week! Beautifully finished with teabag stains to create an ancient feel to them.
