Head to the Fields of Dreams on Saturday for a FREE community event organised by LeftCoast.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 to Sally one of our Community Connectors who will be at the 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 with some Early Years activities and a listening ear, to support you on your parenting journey.

There will be free snacks and the chance to have a free family portrait (limited availability and will be on a first come first served basis.

🥣During the school holidays you and your little ones can enjoy a FREE Kellogg’s breakfast at your local Morrisons Café.

Kids and adults can enjoy this offer until 6th September.

As well as a FREE breakfast you you can get the *kids get a free meal all day, every day in the holidays. *For every adult meal over £5 you can receive one free kids meal from the kids menu. The offer is also available on the Kids Pick n Mix meal deal from the fridge.

As the start of Summer Holidays begins, wed like to remind you our Children Young People Primary Mental Health Team remains open. Our PMHW Drop In are still each week with additional ones throughout the town.

Educational Diversity Achieves the Skills Builder Award

We are delighted to announce that we have been recognised with the Skills Builder Award, a national accreditation that celebrates our commitment to developing the essential skills that help young people succeed in education, employment, and life.

The Skills Builder Award recognises schools that have embedded the teaching and development of the eight essential skills; Listening, Speaking, Problem Solving, Creativity, Staying Positive, Aiming High, Leadership and Teamwork, throughout their curriculum and wider school experience.

What This Means for Our School
Receiving this award is a significant achievement and reflects our dedication to preparing pupils for successful futures. We believe that academic achievement and essential life skills go hand in hand, and this recognition highlights the hard work of our staff and students in developing these important capabilities every day.
By focusing on essential skills, we help our learners become more confident, resilient and ready to embrace future challenges, whether in further education, employment, or everyday life.

Our Journey
Our Skills Builder journey has involved embedding essential skills across all areas of school life. Through classroom learning, enrichment activities, pupil leadership opportunities and collaborative projects, students have had countless opportunities to develop and demonstrate these vital skills.
Key highlights include:
• Integrating essential skills into curriculum planning and teaching
• Providing staff development to support consistent skills-based approaches
• Celebrating student success and skill development across the school
• Building links with employers and the wider community to enhance real-world learning opportunities
• We had a fantastic whole school Skills Builder Launch Day in the summer term.
These initiatives have enabled our pupils to recognise their strengths, build confidence, and develop skills that will support them long after they leave our school.

Vic O’Farrell, Headteacher, said:

This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff and students in developing the essential skills that are so important for future success. We remain committed to ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to grow in confidence, resilience and aspiration."

Year 8 pupil said:

Looking Ahead
While we are proud of this achievement, we see it as an important milestone rather than the finish line. We look forward to continuing to develop essential skills across our school community, creating even more opportunities for our students to thrive, achieve their ambitions, and make a positive difference in the world.

As many of our families will be aware, our school community has been affected by the recent tragic news concerning one of our pupils. We have written to parents and carers to inform them of this heartbreaking loss.
At this incredibly difficult time, we join together as a school community in holding Coby's family, friends and loved ones in our thoughts.
We recognise that news such as this can affect children, young people and adults in different ways. Some may feel upset, worried, confused or overwhelmed, whilst others may find themselves reflecting on events more as time passes. As outlined in our letter to parents and carers, support has been available in school for our pupils, and we remain committed to helping those who need it.
As we move into the weekend and the coming weeks of the summer holidays, we encourage our pupils and families to look after themselves, check in with one another and seek support if needed. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, and no one should feel they have to cope alone.
