✨ M&G Skills for Life ✨
Our students recently enjoyed a trip to the Holiday Inn 🏨 as part of their Stage 3 workshop sessions. This experience gave them the opportunity to meet employers from a wide range of industry backgrounds 🤝, link directly with professionals, and explore potential work experience and apprenticeship opportunities 💼🎓
Our first session went down a storm 🌟, with students taking part in mocktail making 🍹 and developing some fantastic culinary skills 👩🍳👨🍳 along the way.
We’re really proud of how engaged the students were 💛 and can’t wait for the next session! 🙌

Exciting News from Blackpool Skills Academy! 🌟
It’s been a year of big changes and even bigger progress. Over the past year, we’ve worked hard to improve our building and create the very best learning environment for our students.
We’re thrilled to share that, following our recent monitoring visit, we are now officially Ofsted registered as an independent school! 🎉
This is such an important milestone for us, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and hard work of all the team.
Today, we’re also welcoming back our students after the summer break – and we can’t wait to see everything this academic year has in store. ✨
Here’s to the next exciting chapter at Blackpool Skills Academy!
Proud of our year 11 leaver 🧡 it’s a privilege to work with all of our students

We’re so proud to share the results of a fantastic partnership! Blackpool Skills Academy, in collaboration with Unique development services ltd have designed, crafted, and installed these beautiful benches and planters at The Maple School, a setting we’re proud to work closely with.
Not only are these additions practical and well-made, but they also bring a warm, aesthetic touch to an already fantastic school environment. 🧡
A huge well done to everyone involved — teamwork, craftsmanship, and community spirit at its best!

Back in September 2024, members of our staff team had the privilege of attending the Make Life Kind anti-knife fundraising event in Manchester.
It was an incredible evening filled with powerful, inspirational speakers who shared their personal experiences and heartfelt messages. The event was emotional on many levels and served as a real eye-opener to the challenges many young people face in today’s world.
Following that connection, we were honoured to welcome Loti and Tilita from the Make Life Kind charity to our academy this week, as part of their 'UnBottled' training programme.
Loti shared his deeply moving story with our students, speaking openly about his personal experiences with racism and discrimination, and how these challenges shaped him into the successful, driven individual he is today. His message was clear and powerful: despite being told he would fail throughout his high school years, he persevered and turned his life around.
His passion and honesty resonated with everyone in the room. Our students felt safe, seen, and supported. Some chose to open up about their own experiences, and the atmosphere was incredibly moving—so much so that a few of our staff members were brought to tears, witnessing the honesty and engagement of our students.
We’re incredibly grateful to Loti, Tilita, and the Make Life Kind team for their time and for helping us continue to build a compassionate, understanding, and inspiring environment for our young people.
