We had lots of Super Heroes in Nursery for Red Nose Day! ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ
During the session, the children could design they're own Red Nose's and we decorated a biscuit to look like a Red Nose, which we ate for our Friday Special Snack.

Christmas has arrived in Nursery and we have had an exciting time decorating our environment, three Christmas Trees๐ and wrapping presents ๐
On Tuesday a magical door appeared and we wondered where it would lead and who was behind it - suggestions from the children were an ant, mouse, ghost, vampire, Shelby, Dave or Santa. The following day we discovered it was one of Santa's Elves who is coming from the North Pole every morning to spend the day with us in nursery then travelling back at night to tell Santa all about what he has seen. On Wednesday night he even flew down the illuminations and around Stanley Park on his way back to the North Pole. We decided to name our Elf Buddy, and today Buddy brought us some Christmas biscuit cutters so we decided to make biscuits for our special snack and everybody enjoyed them!
The biscuit recipe we used was:
Ingredients - 50g butter, 50g caster sugar, 1 egg and 140g flour.
We creamed the butter and sugar together then stirred in the egg. We then folded in the flour and formed our biscuit dough. We rolled out the dough on a floured surface then cut out the biscuits using Buddy's cutters. We placed the biscuits on a baking tray and baked them in the oven for 10 mins at 190C.
For this weekend's family challenge please can you post photos on Tapestry of your Christmas Tree and decorations and/or have a go at baking the biscuits we made. Don't forget to let know on Tapestry anything your child tells you about our busy week - thank you ๐

Thank you to our fabulous parents and carers for bringing all the ingredients we used to make our delicious 'Friendship soup'. We had a busy nursery session studying, washing, peeling and chopping the vegetables before we put them in a big pot which we boiled on the stove in water and stock.
When it was ready we all sat together to eat the soup with some lovely buttered bread.
During this process we used our senses (the smell was lovely) and developed skills such as using a knife and spoon. Additionally sitting altogether at the end provided us with an opportunity to talk and practice our table manners.

In Nursery 1 during group time we have been learning the rhyme '5 currant buns' and on Friday we decided to bake some.
We looked on google for a recipe, collected the ingredients and got busy measuring, mixing and spooning the mixture into bun cases then putting them in the oven to bake. When they were ready to eat we got cosy on the carpet and ate them with a drink of milk. They were 'yummy' and one of the children declared it was "the best day ever"!
