Always greatful to parents who are happy to share their childs progress outside of sessions. This is J working on moving Ollies πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
The ledges are getting bigger, grinds are getting longer and those Ollies are seeing more air for sure. Well done for still getting it outside of session.
.......................

We have multiple groups that you can come along to and practice your skills but the limits are endless. So when you're outside of session... practising is still important if you are wanting to keep up with your skills.

Some tips from me - Stay Hydrated, stay strong, take breaks & switch up the trick your trying. A little bit of variety avoids the build up of fustration when you just can't get it. First try is rare, not impossible - Trust the process.

Stay strong - Work out | Stretch | Eat Well | Look after yourselflves πŸ›ΉπŸ’ͺ

π•Šπ•–π•€π•€π•šπ• π•Ÿ 𝕋𝕨𝕠

At this stage we already have a good understanding of goals, timeframes and areas that need some focus.

Dropping in was up there on her list! The first session we attempted a drop in with assistance (nearer the the end of session). That first drop in try was her last for that session and for good reason.

The realistic goal - Learn something new!

Covering multiple areas to encourage development then work with the practial elements. Some technical drills & free roll to practise.

When our sessions conclude, it is encouraged to spend some extra time practising what you have been working on and cleaning up them skills.

After successfully dropping in at the 30minute halfway point during our second session she took herself to other sections of the skatepark to repeat the technicalities of dropping in and playing with heights.

At first, before sessions commenced, I received a video clip (from her adult) of her attemp to kickturn at height with speed in the mix but a clear hesitation coming back Fakie and no clear indication she knew how to navigate the kick-turn. Sometimes it's easy to find that road block, we are here to break down that wall and build a route.

She left the skatepark with multiple wins after that session and a very happy parent! πŸ’›

It's not often we get to see me coaching in action so when parents are happy to share their experiences it really is appreciated.

This was our second session at Ramp City in Blackpool

She had a goal!
She wanted to learn new tricks & drop in!

So, what do our private sessions look like?
- No Pressure, Safety, Warm Welcome & Disclaimers
- Introductions
- A sharing of interests
- Finding out what level you are currently riding at
- Covering / Recap the basics
- Discovering realistic goals and expectations
- Easy wins
- Positive & Realistic challenges.
- Coach led practice
- Cool down
- Have a conclusion at the end of every session

Our second session looks slightly different πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
...

So, we had attempted a drop in on our first session as a taster. Two handed, fully assisted drop at a beginner height. We managed 1, without slamming but she did not know how she felt about it and needed some space πŸ’› I encourage this and always allow time for emotions to process without fear playing the main character πŸ‘Š

I'll share what happened in our next session soon βοΈπŸ›Ή

15/09/2026

We are looking to host the next 'First Push' & 'Get Rolling' SBGB course in November.

If you are looking to learn how to safely help others at the skatepark and get into coaching I highly recommend either of the courses.

2. GET ROLLING 18+ - Slightly longer course and includes 1 year of insurance.

(All requirements will be highlighted prior to booking)

We will show you how to deliver effective sessions and help you grow as a Real Skate Coach πŸ”₯πŸ™

Real Skate Requirements

1. FIRST AID is desired - Only essential if delivering sessions alone.

2. Safeguarded & DBS Checked - Essential

3. Are a member of SBGB - Essential (comes with insurace)

We have a few of you ready and waiting to take the next step!

October 3rd - First Aid Training - DM to book your space.

⭐️ We may be able to fund a small amount if not all potential candidates for these courses. πŸ›Ή
