We’ve got a lovely month ahead filled with special days, themed activities and lots of autumn fun for our little ones. 🎃✨

From National Poetry Day and World Smile Day, to World Space Week, pumpkin picking, kindness activities and our Halloween Party & Craft Night, there’s plenty for the children to explore, celebrate and enjoy throughout October. 💛

We can’t wait for another month of learning, creating, discovering and making memories together. 🌈

💚 A huge thank you from Kiddiwinks Blackburn! 💚

What a lovely week we’ve had supporting Macmillan Cancer Support at nursery. From cakes and treats to games, guesses and our raffle, it was wonderful to see so many of our families getting involved. 🍰🎟️✨

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised an amazing £150 at Blackburn! 💚

🎨🪞 All About Me – Self-Portraits 🪞🎨

Our children have been getting creative with their very own self-portraits.

Using mirrors, paper and a range of drawing and painting materials, the children looked carefully at their reflections and noticed the features that make them unique — from their hair and eyes to their nose, mouth and skin tone. 💛

They were encouraged to talk about what they could see, choose colours that represented themselves and create their own interpretation of their face.

Activities like this support self-awareness, confidence, observation, communication and fine motor skills, while helping children celebrate what makes each of us special. 🌈

We loved seeing all of their wonderful creations come to life! ✨

🐻🐰 Welcome back, Barnaby, Bella & Bearemy! 🐰🐻

We’re so excited to welcome back our much-loved nursery friends — Barnaby Bear, Bella Bunny and Bearemy Bear. 💛

Over the coming weeks, they’ll be heading home with different children for the weekend to enjoy lots of special adventures with their families and friends.

Whether it’s a trip to the park, a cosy movie night, baking together, visiting somewhere new or simply spending time at home, we can’t wait to see what they get up to! 🌈✨

Families will be able to document their adventures, and when our nursery friends return, the children will have the chance to share their experiences with everyone at nursery — helping to build confidence, communication, storytelling and those lovely home–nursery connections. 🥰

🎨❄️ Painting with ice! ❄️🎨

Our children have been getting creative with a very cool twist on painting — using frozen paint to make colourful marks and patterns.

As the ice began to melt, the children explored how the colours moved and mixed across the paper, experimenting with different strokes, textures and shapes along the way. 🌈

This simple activity supported lots of lovely learning through play, from sensory exploration and creativity to fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and curiosity.

A wonderfully messy way to explore what happens when art meets science! 💛

📚✨ A look back Roald Dahl Day at Kiddiwinks!✨📚

Last week, our children had a fantastic time celebrating Roald Dahl Day with lots of story-inspired fun, creativity and imagination.

From making sweet bags inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to creating marvellous medicines, dream jars and even a delicious Bruce cake inspired by Matilda, there was plenty for everyone to explore. 🍫🌈🧪

The children had lots of opportunities to use their imagination, get creative and bring some much-lived stories to life.

A lovely celebration of big stories, big imaginations and lots of fun! 💛
