🌈✨ Learning Through Play in Preschool! ✨🌈

Our preschool children have been busy learning through a range of fun, hands-on activities designed to build important skills for their development and school readiness. πŸ’š

From rolling dice and developing our number sense, to using tweezers to strengthen fine motor skills, the children have been counting, creating patterns, problem-solving and working together.

We’ve also been developing our focus and concentration as we carefully pick and place objects, while encouraging sharing, turn-taking, communication and cooperation. πŸ§ πŸ”’πŸ‘

Through play, our children are building confidence, independence, creativity and a love of learning β€” showing us that small moments really do lead to big growth! 🌟

πŸ› Our Caterpillars Have Arrived πŸ¦‹

The children have been very excited to welcome some very special visitors to nursery β€” our caterpillars!

Each room has been taking turns to read The Very Hungry Caterpillar, talk about the life cycle of a butterfly and learn all about how caterpillars grow and change.

The children will be watching carefully over the next few weeks as our caterpillars grow, eventually turning into beautiful butterflies.

This is a lovely hands-on learning experience, supporting curiosity, communication, understanding of the world, care for living things and early science skills.

Keep looking back for updates as we follow our caterpillars on their exciting journey. πŸ’™

πŸ‹πŸŒŠExploring, Creating and Learning at Kiddiwinks Blackburn

The children have been enjoying lots of lovely hands-on activities, exploring through their senses, creativity and curiosity.

Our lemon and lime water play activity gave the children the opportunity to explore water, smell the citrus fruit, squeeze lemon and lime slices, stir the water and talk about colours, smells, tastes and textures. This supported sensory exploration, fine motor skills, communication and curiosity, while also encouraging conversations about healthy drinks.

The children also celebrated National Lighthouse Day by learning about lighthouses and how they help guide ships safely. They then used their creativity to design and create their own lighthouses, exploring colours, shapes and imaginative ideas.

A lovely mix of sensory play, creativity and learning through play at Kiddiwinks Blackburn. πŸ’™

🌈⚽ Outdoor Ball Run Fun! ⚽🌈

Our children have been having lots of fun exploring and experimenting with our outdoor ball run activity! Through building ramps, testing ideas and working together, they have been developing their problem-solving skills, critical thinking and teamwork.

The children loved investigating how the balls moved, making predictions and adapting their designs to see what would happen. It was wonderful to see their creativity, communication and confidence shine as they learned through play.

At Kiddiwinks, we encourage curiosity and hands-on learning experiences that support children’s development while having fun outdoors! πŸ’šβœ¨

πŸ’› Friendship Day at Kiddiwinks πŸ’›

The children have been celebrating Friendship Day by creating a lovely friendship tree together.

Using their handprints, the children each added their own special mark to the tree, helping to create a beautiful piece of artwork that represents kindness, friendship and belonging.

This activity encouraged the children to work together, take turns, talk about friendships and understand how we are all part of our Kiddiwinks family.

A lovely way to celebrate kindness, togetherness and learning through play. πŸ’™

🍞 Our Preschool bakers have been busy! 🍞

This week, our Preschool children enjoyed making their very own homemade bread after reading The Little Red Hen. They carefully measured, mixed, kneaded and baked their bread, learning where bread comes from while developing their fine motor skills, listening skills and the importance of teamwork.

The children were so proud to taste the delicious bread they had made together. What a fantastic team effort! πŸ’™

πŸ’¬ Ask your child:
β€’ What ingredients did we add to our dough?
β€’ How did we knead the dough?
β€’ Who helped the Little Red Hen in the story?
