🌟 A Fantastic P7 Transition Open Evening! 🌟

What a brilliant evening at St Kentigern’s Academy as we welcomed huge numbers of P7 pupils, parents and carers through our doors for our Transition Open Evening!

Our future St Kent’s pupils had the opportunity to experience learning right across the curriculum — getting involved in activities in Science, Maths, English, Modern Languages, Social Subjects, PE, Art, HFT, CDT and much more. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, curiosity and excitement throughout the school.

A particularly special part of the evening was the contribution of our own young people. An incredible 70 St Kent’s pupils volunteered to help welcome families, support departments, give directions and share their experiences of life at St Kent’s. They were outstanding ambassadors for our school and we are incredibly proud of them.

Thank you to all of our staff and pupils who made the evening possible, and to every P7 pupil, parent and carer who came along.

We loved welcoming you to St Kent’s and hope you got a real sense of the learning, opportunities and community that await you here.

❤️ S1 Heartstart – Learning Skills That Save Lives ❤️

Our S1 pupils took part in Heartstart today, learning vital emergency life-saving skills, including how to respond when someone is unconscious and how to perform CPR.

It was fantastic to see so many of our young people getting involved, working together and developing the confidence to act in an emergency. These are practical skills that we hope they will never need to use — but which could one day make a life-changing difference.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in delivering and supporting today’s sessions and giving our S1 pupils such a valuable learning experience.

💚 Feel Good Friday at St Kent’s! 💚

There was a real sense of community across the school today as we marked another Feel Good Friday, with a particular focus on raising awareness of organ donation and the incredible difference it can make to the lives of others.

Following on from our assemblies yesterday, organised by our Caritas pupils and supported by Organ Donation Scotland and the PJ Foundation, today gave us another opportunity to encourage conversations around organ donation and the importance of making our wishes known. 💗

We were also delighted to take part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning, bringing staff and young people together while raising funds to support the vital work of Macmillan Cancer Support. ☕🍰💚

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise, donated, baked, bought and supported today’s activities.

Days like today reflect so much of what we want our school community to be about — compassion, service and looking out for one another.

🤖 A Fantastic Visit to the National Robotarium!

45 of our young people had an exciting opportunity to visit the National Robotarium in Edinburgh, exploring the fascinating world of robotics, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies!
The visit gave pupils a chance to see cutting-edge technology in action, including some impressive four-legged robots, while discovering the range of careers and opportunities available in this rapidly developing industry.
A huge thank you to DYW West Lothian for supporting this fantastic experience and to Mr Menzies for organising the trip.

💗 Organ Donation Week | A Gift of Life

Today, we were delighted to welcome the PJ Foundation and Organ Donation Scotland to St Kentigern’s Academy for a series of thought-provoking assemblies, organised by our wonderful Caritas pupils.

Taking place during National Organ Donation Week (21–27 September), the assemblies gave our young people an opportunity to reflect on the life-changing impact of organ donation, the importance of making informed decisions, and the extraordinary gift of giving others hope for the future.

This year’s national campaign, Don’t Leave Your Loved Ones in Doubt, reminds us of the importance of talking to our families about our wishes.

A huge thank you to the PJ Foundation and Organ Donation Scotland for sharing such an important message with our school community. We are also incredibly proud of our Caritas pupils for organising today’s assemblies and demonstrating our school values of Faith, Service and Hope in action.

🙏 St Ninian Feast Day Mass 🙏

Today we were delighted to come together as a school community to celebrate the Feast Day of St Ninian, patron of one of our three Houses.

It was a special opportunity for our Ninian House pupils and staff to gather in prayer and reflection, celebrating the example of St Ninian and the values of faith and service that remain so important to our school community.

A huge thank you to Fr Peter for joining us and celebrating Mass, and for his continued support of St Kentigern’s.

Today’s Mass was also made particularly special by the use of our beautiful new altar. We are incredibly grateful to our local branch of the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVDP) and the Carmelite Sisters for their very generous donation, which will support the prayer and liturgical life of our school for many years to come.

A wonderful way to mark St Ninian’s Feast Day and celebrate our shared faith. 💙🙏
