🍎 Free School Meals Eligibility is Changing from September 2026

Many more families may be entitled to Free School Meals from September 2026 and may not realise they qualify.

Applying is quick, simple and completely confidential. If your child is eligible, it could help save your family money on school meals while also providing additional funding that supports learning and resources across our school.

We encourage all families to check their eligibility, even if you have applied before or think you may not qualify.

⚾ Children vs Staff Rounders Match! ⚾

What a fantastic morning of rounders! Our children gave it absolutely everything, showing brilliant teamwork, determination and plenty of enthusiasm from the very first ball.

As for the staff... we're still waiting for them to arrive! 😂 (We think they may have left their catching skills in the staffroom!)

After lots of laughs, some questionable fielding, quite a few tumbles and a few very creative interpretations of the rules, the final score was:

🏆 Children: 29
🏅 Staff: 21.5

A huge well done to everyone who took part. Thank you for making it such a fun event with great sportsmanship, lots of cheering and memories that will keep us smiling for a long time.

🏴 COME ON ENGLAND! 🦁⚽

We're backing the Three Lions and know many families (and staff! 😉) will be up cheering them on. So, after what we're hoping is a memorable night, we'll be having a soft start to the school day on Monday morning.

🥣 Breakfast Club will be open as normal.
🏫 School will be open at the usual time, but families can arrive any time up until 11:00am without being marked late.

To make the morning a little easier (because we know getting everyone up might be the biggest challenge of the weekend! 😴), children can be dropped off at the Heron car park, and we'll have our minibuses running between Heron and the Infant and Junior Schools to get them safely to school.

⚽ Children are also welcome to come to school wearing their football kit to keep the football spirit going!

Now all we need is for Harry Kane to find the back of the net... preferably before bedtime! 😉

📚 Year 6 Transition Days 📚

Over the next few days, our Year 6 children will be spending time at their new high schools as part of their transition programme.

Please see the information below for the secondary schools our children will be attending and the days they are expected to attend.

Important reminder: Children should not come to our school first. Instead, they should go directly to their new high school, just as they will when they begin in September.

We hope all of our Year 6 children have a fantastic experience as they take this exciting next step in their journey. Good luck to you all! 🌟
