Shadsworth High School

A lot of people know where the Set End Pub used to be I think its a Cafe now, on the corner of Shadsworth Rd & Rothesay Rd but do you know that there was an older Set End Pub on Shadsworth Road. it was oposite shadsworth school's main entrance there is still remanants of a square of drystone wall if you look carefully my Aunty & Uncle had it before it was demolished I was only very young but I remember it had gas lights. It was a squre building painted in a Cream Colour.

I see both of Witton parks old schools are being demolished I wonder how long Shadsworth has.

Yes Sue I remember Mr. Hunt I remember having a question sesion and if you got the answer right you stood on your chair if you got anouther right you stood on your desk it was crazey with people up on top of the desk and the numptys sat down.
My Cousin was there before me and my sister was ther after me I was there around the late 60's.

I would like to hear from any one who went to Shadsworth High School or Blakewater College and any reminiscences.

I thought it was time to take some Photographs of the old school before it was dimolished, which I think will be its ultimate destination now that the new Blackburn Central Collage http://bchs.co.uk/ has taken its place in educating the young People of Blackburn. I wish the New College all the best for both pupils and teachers. And I hope the New building supports them as well as this building has.
