Deaf Village North West Empowering the Deaf community: Deaf Village Northwest, a sanctuary of support and inclusion 🤟🏼

Established in 2006

We have a multidisciplinary team consisting of, RSLI’s, Communication Support Workers, Native Wellbeing Officers, qualified Deaf and Hearing teachers, qualified intermediary, Sports Coach, Careers Coach, experienced Benefits Advisor, Housing Support Officer, Digital Skills Tutor/Mentor and Apprenticeships Advisor. In September 2020 due to rapid growth following an increased need for our services, we took the decision and we moved locations and opened ‘Our Deaf Hub’; in partnership with Deaf Village=North West CIC, a place that is Deaf Lead and open to the whole community, although the primary aim is to support the Deaf community. In 2022 we are currently extending our Deaf Hub and have acquired more buildings and land to offer even more services to the Deaf Community and will become the first Deaf Village in Lancashire. The White House will offer residential for 18+ and a post 16 specialist institution. Our services will also extend to offer more Deaf people; independent living skills, translation service, training workshops, digital skills, advocacy, health & wellbeing, money management, peer to peer learning, work placements, employability skills and so much more.

Giving back to the community ✨

Last night, our CEO Debra Reynolds was proud to attend and take part in the fashion show Dazzle & Decadence, hosted at Ainsworth Jewellers in Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council

At Deaf Village North West, we believe being part of a community means more than simply working within it. It means showing up, supporting local businesses, championing local people and giving back to charities that make a real difference. ❤️

It was a fabulous evening celebrating local women, fashion, jewellery and community, while raising support for Advocacy Focus and Lancashire Women
A huge well done to Helen Dimmick and the team at Ainsworth Jewellers for bringing everyone together for such a special evening.

Our Village has always been built around one simple idea people supporting people. And we’ll always be proud to support others doing the same. 🤟❤️

Did you know we currently have spaces available at The White House?

The White House is our specialist Deaf provision, offering a supportive environment where Deaf people can build confidence, develop independence and receive support in a way that meets their communication needs.

With 24/7 BSL support, a Deaf-aware team and a focus on everyday life skills, our aim is to help each person feel safe, understood and supported.

If you are a social worker, commissioner, family member or professional looking for a specialist Deaf placement, we’d love to hear from you.

We had a lovely time on our walk at Jeffrey Hill in Longridge.

Even though we had to cut it short, we still enjoyed getting out together, having a good chat and making the most of our time outdoors.
