This week the children have started celebrating Autumn making sensory bottles with their treasures they have found on our walks and painting an Autumn tree using their hands to explore the colours and textures.
We also read Grufalo granny and made grufalo soup the children had so much fun mixing and feeding the Grufalo then making one.

This week the children have enjoyed getting outside every day, going on our walks, collecting leaves and looking closely at the changing nature around us. We’ve had lots of fun splashing in puddles and plenty of running around and burning off some energy.

We’ve been reading ‘Leaf Man’ and making our own leaf puppets, using the leaves they collected.

The children have also been exploring and making sensory hands, using a variety of different materials to touch, feel and explore. We’ve introduced new words to describe how things feel, such as smooth, hard,soft and crinkly.
We brought some of our natural treasures indoors too, using leaves, sticks and conkers in our playdough play. The children loved exploring, pressing, rolling with the different textures and resources.

The children explored emotions using our emotion puppets and mirrors. They enjoyed looking at themselves, making different faces and copying the expressions they saw. They ended the activity with a fun game of hide and seek — lots of giggles and little ones searching high and lo for the puppets.

Lots of lovely hands-on learning, exploring, language development and fun this week.

What a wonderful second week back we have had.
Personal, Social & Emotional Development:
A huge welcome to our new little one who started with us this week! He has settled in so well I’m so proud how well he interacts with the other children and how the other children have made him so welcome building new relationships, and exploring our environment with a big smile.
Understanding the World: We have spent plenty of time outdoors in the fresh air, exploring the local environment on our daily walks. The children loved looking for natural resources and were absolutely thrilled to find lots of conkers.
Mathematics & Communication & Language:
During our walks, they also looked for local wildlife, spotting lots of birds,cats and a squirrel. We turned our journey into a fun game by counting and shouting out the colours of cars that passed by.
Expressive Arts & Design: Back at the setting, we have been busy getting creative and exploring textures. The children started making sensory handprints and used their conkers to roll in paint to create their own unique patterns.
Communication, Language & Physical Development:
The children have been working together to build towers, sharing lots of toys, and enjoying our favourite stories and music sessions.

A great first week back happy kids,happy Sandy.
Lots of fun and outside walks and outdoor.
Open wide, Mr. Crocodile This week, the little ones enjoyed playing dentists listening to stories and using toothbrushes to clean the crocodiles teeth. It was a fun hands-on way to learn all about healthy smiles and dental care through play.

Today was a perfect first day back, filled with fresh air and autumn exploring. We gathered all sorts of nature treasures, including one massive stick they really wanted to bring it home. They loved watching the shadows jumping on them and happily throwing handfuls of leaves and rolling on the floor laughing.
Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Hope you have all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend.
Good luck to all the little ones starting school tomorrow or Wednesday such an exciting time.
I can’t believe it’s 1st September tomorrow where has the last term gone?
I’m looking forward to welcoming my little ones back and to another term full of fun, play, learning. X
