At 'My Step Up' care farm for adults with special needs we provide animal therapy to help our clients be active, develop social skills & benefit health.
My Step Up is a farm based day centre for adults with special needs and other challenges. Set up by parents of two autistic young men we saw the benefits of meaningful work outside with and for the animals and so this inspired us to set up the care farm in Blackburn Lancashire. Employ Me is the name given to Mencap's bespoke supported employment programmes.
December was a busy conclusion to 2022. Members of our Barnet Job Club achieved 10 paid job outcomes in the last seven months. The latest of these was Hitesh, who was offered a role at Waitrose.

We’ve added some new doors to the barn 😄 everyone should be warmer as we enter the autumn/winter months. And hopefully it’ll stop the chickens from wandering in too 😂🐓🐔🐔
