A huge congratulations to former Head Boy Daniel Eccles, who has graduated from Lancaster University with a First Class Honours degree in English Literature.

Daniel attended St Wilfrid's from Year 7 to Year 13, leaving us in 2023. We are incredibly proud of everything he has achieved, and it is wonderful to hear that the support, guidance and encouragement of our staff played a part in his journey.

Congratulations, Daniel! We wish you every success in the future.

Truro Crowned House Champions!

As we reach the end of another fantastic academic year, we're delighted to announce that Truro House are our 2025–26 House Champions! 🎉

After a closely fought competition, Truro claimed the title and celebrated their victory with free ice cream in the sunshine🍦

We also want to say a heartfelt thank you to Miss McNamara, who is stepping down as Truro House Captain after three fantastic years. We're delighted she'll be taking on a new role within our Sixth Form team and wish her every success in this exciting next chapter.

Wilfrid's Take on Iceland 🇮🇸

This week, a group of our students have travelled to Iceland for a truly unforgettable Geography trip. From exploring the Lava Centre and standing at the edge of a volcanic crater to relaxing in the Secret Lagoon, the past few days have been packed with incredible experiences and nonstop adventure.

We can't wait to hear all about their favourite moments and discoveries when they return to the academy 🌋

Sports Day 2026! 🏃🏆

This week, we held our annual Sports Day at Witton Track – and what a fantastic couple of days it was!

From the 100m sprint to welly throwing, high jump and relay races, our students gave every event their all, earning valuable points for their houses along the way.

So... which house will be crowned champions for the 2025–2026 academic year? 👀

Italy Ski Trip 2028 🇮🇹🎿

If your child is interested in joining our Italy Ski Trip 2028, please ask them to collect an information letter from the KS3 Pod ❄️

An unforgettable adventure awaits!

A friendly reminder that our annual Sports Day takes place this week and will be held over two days:

Year 7 & Year 8 – Wednesday 8th July
Year 9, Year 10 & Year 12 – Thursday 9th July

All students must:

▪️Arrive to school with full PE kit on

▪️Register at their form for 8.45am.

▪️The weather is expected to be warm, so please bring sunscreen, a refillable water bottle and a light layer, just in case.

▪️Bring any medication you may need, including inhalers.

▪️Bring a packed lunch.

Students will finish at the normal end of the school day.

What an incredible two days it's been! 🎉

Today marked the end of our Year 6 Transition Days at the academy and we couldn't be prouder of how brilliantly our new starters embraced every moment.

From meeting their new Head of Year, tutor and form group, to experiencing exciting taster lessons, getting creative with crafts, and showing off their skills in a mini Hula Hoop House competition, they've thrown themselves into everything and had a fantastic taste of life at St Wilfrid's!

We hope you've had as much fun as we have and made lots of new memories and friendships along the way. We can't wait to welcome you back in September – have an amazing summer!

Yesterday, a group of our Year 7 students visited Pleckgate High School to take part in an Interfaith Event.

Throughout the day, they explored a range of different faiths, participated in engaging workshops and activities, and had the opportunity to ask a live panel of guest speakers questions about their faiths and beliefs.

A huge well done to all of our students for representing the academy so brilliantly and embracing every aspect of the day.
