🌟EYFS🌟

Foundation and Tiddly Tots had a fantastic time at their very first Forest School session! We started by learning our Forest School rules before heading off to explore and see what we could discover. 🔎🍂

There was lots of fun and imagination as the children played in the tunnel, built with sticks and turned them into all sorts of things, including magical wands! 🪄🌿

There were lots of smiles, laughter, exploring and fun throughout the session, and everyone had a brilliant time! We can’t wait for our next Forest School session.🌳

🌟Year 2🌟

This week, Year 2 have been learning about how IT devices work together. We put our learning into practice by working in pairs and taking on the roles of shopkeeper and customer. 🧑‍💼🛍️ We had to match the barcodes to the correct items, find the price and then use the information to create a till receipt. 🧾 We had lots of fun while developing our understanding of how different IT devices can work together in everyday life! 💻

🌟Year 5🌟

This week, Year 5 have been exploring the different phases of the Moon and putting their learning into practice in a fun and delicious way! 🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘
The children created their very own Moon phase cycles using Oreos, carefully demonstrating each stage of the lunar cycle. 🌙🍪
There were lots of smiles, great discussions and plenty of enthusiasm — and, of course, the best part was getting to eat their creations afterwards! 😋
Well done, Year 5! Miss Smith was so proud of your fantastic learning and enthusiasm. 🌟👏

🌟Foundation and Tiddly Tots🌟

This week have been reading a book called “Awesome Ambulances” and we were very excited to get a visit from a real ambulance! Paramedic Luke told us all about the job he does and then showed us all the different equipment they carry on the ambulance including a blood pressure monitor, stethoscope, defibrillator, oxygen mask and a stretcher. Then we got to go inside the ambulance. We took turns sitting on the stretcher, wearing the helmet and finding all the different things paramedics need to use. Even Mrs Ellison got to try on the helmet ⛑️ Finally we of course got to see the lights and siren.
What a great way to start a Wednesday 😄 🚑

🌟YEAR 6 🌟

This half term, Year 6 have been exploring the Healthy Bodies science topic. Over the last two weeks, the focus has been on the heart and circulatory system.

To bring their learning to life, the children were challenged in groups to create a life-size diagram of the circulatory system, carefully labelling each part and explaining how it functions. Each group then presented their work to the class, explaining how blood travels around the body, the important role of the heart and why the circulatory system is important to keep us healthy.

This week the children carried out an investigation into how exercise affects our hearts/circulatory system. They began by recording their pulse rate, then completed a chosen exercise for a set period of time before recording their pulse rate again.

Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed these hands on tasks, showing great teamwork and good scientific understanding both in their groups and during their practical activity.

🌟EYFS🌟
This week our Tiddly Tots and Foundation children became firefighters. They practised being firemen by ‘putting out’ the fires on the windows. They had to use their fine motor skills to squeeze the trigger and use their strong muscles to make sure they were aiming in the right place.
Lots of fun was had by all! ☺️

🌟 Year 3 🌟
Our Year 3 children are learning about the Stone Age and yesterday afternoon learnt about the Palaeolithic period. Part of the lesson looked at early humans, how they lived in caves and how they created paintings inside them.
The children created their own cave drawings underneath the classroom tables, imagining what it would have been like to paint on the ceiling of a cave! They thoroughly enjoyed trying to draw in this unusual way and produced some brilliant Stone Age-inspired artwork!

🌟Year 1 🌟

As part of Year 1’s Islam unit in RE, some children brought in items from home to show to the rest of the class. It was amazing to see the beautiful prayer mats and beads. The children demonstrated how these were used.
