Our final Wrens Forest School session of the year ended with the children creating beautiful personalised pendants to take home as a special keepsake of their time at Forest School at St. Leonards.
I was so impressed by the creativity and variety of their designs, with each child adding their own unique style and personality to their pendant.
Well done, Wrens! We hope you treasure these wonderful memories.

A huge well done to all our amazing children who took part in the rounders event last week! They played brilliantly, showed great determination, and gave it their absolute best despite the 30°C heat. 🏏

We also want to say a massive thank you to the parents and siblings who joined in and supported our team; we couldn’t have done it without you!

This week, the Wren Class children enjoyed making friendship bracelets, practising their knotting and plaiting skills to create some wonderful designs.
Our young explorers also had great fun using a metal detector and even uncovered a rusty old nail! No hidden treasure just yet, but they haven't given up on their search. We can't wait to see what they discover next!

Our Year 1 and 2 girls had a wonderful time at the Disney Football Festival last week. They were able to dress up as their favourite Disney character and they took part in a variety of football stations. They thoroughly enjoyed the matches at the end; well done, girls! ⚽️

Wrens had another fantastic session today!
They started by learning about food hygiene and safe cutting techniques before making their own delicious fruit kebabs, which were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Next, they worked brilliantly as a team to create their own camp. Together they designed a cooking area, washing-up station, and meeting space. They appointed leaders, delegated tasks, and collaborated really well throughout the activity.
It was wonderful to see their teamwork, communication, and creativity in action. Most importantly, they had great fun together!

The Wrens children explored the woodland, collecting information about different tree species and a number from each station. To crack the code, they had to solve a riddle, sequence their numbers correctly, unlock a padlock, and earn their reward of s'mores.
Afterwards, they built shelters with great role playing, waded in the stream, and one group carried out a risk assessment before climbing a tree. They carefully cleared branches and rocks from around and beneath the tree, creating a safe area for a 'swing and a drop' onto flat ground.
Assessing and managing risks to enable adventurous play is an important part of the skills we develop in Forest School. The children showed excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making throughout the session.
Great work, Wrens!

For our final Eco Club session of the year, we harvested the vegetables we had grown and tidied the raised beds. This year, we successfully grew onions, garlic, potatoes, and lettuce. To celebrate our hard work, we enjoyed tasting homemade onion soup and garlic bread made from our harvest. Everyone agreed that it was absolutely delicious!

We were so privileged to be invited to the ‘Party in the Park’ event today at Queen’s Park and what an incredible day it turned out to be!

Our children took part in so many fantastic activities throughout the day including tennis, a ‘wheels’ event, glow in the dark dancing, circus skills and lots more amazing experiences.

The day ended with a colour run and the children loved every minute of it. It certainly was a day to remember! 🏃

Thank you Hyndburn and Ribble Valley School Sports Partnership for inviting us!
