What a lovely day we had yesterday!
As part of National Poetry Day, the team from Lancashire Library Service delivered poetry workshops across school and introduced the Fantastic Book awards to Year 6. In the afternoon we were joined by author and illustrator Sophie Brown who shared her book with Year 3 and completed a sketching workshop. To finish the day, Year 6 prefects, Sophie and our new librarian, Alison formally opened our new library.😀 🙌 🎈 📚 . With hundreds of new books to read and explore, we're excited for the children to embrace and enjoy this space!

Friday's assemblies were extremly wholesome for everyone. As always, it was great to hand out certificates for hard work and demonstrating the school values. 🎉 On Friday afternoon, it was the prefect assembly and it was wonderful. The year 6 children who have been made prefects were very proud and something that stood out more than anything else, was the smiles on the faces of their peers as they celebrated them by cheering and whooping! 🙌Well done to everyone who earned a certificate or a badge! To finish the week, the whole school performed 'This is me' from the Greatest show using Makaton. 🎶
