World Book Day 2026

🚓🚑🚒People who help us 🚒🚑🚓

Our children have really enjoyed playing and learning all about "People who help us ".
We started off talking and sharing ideas about people who help us at home. The children enjoyed painting, drawing and writing about all the wonderful things that our families do to help us at home.
Then we moved on to people who help us in our community.
We shared ideas and created a roleplay area “vets “.
We made fire engines from shapes and created a small world area. We have been very busy drawing and painted pictures alongside having lots of discussions about how the emergency services can help us.

We have been busy playing and learning all about "Winter". We have created snowflake pictures in lots of different ways. We shared one of our favourite stories "Jack Frost" then used it for inspiration to make pictures based on the book. We enjoyed winter theme painting and mark making to improve our fine motor skills.
New children have started in our Nursery class and we're all hoping for more snow to come !

All children will have the opportunity to have their photograph taken individually and with their sibings.

🌺Remembrance Day in Nursery & Reception Class 🌺

Our children have spent the morning thinking about the soldiers, sailors and airmen who fought in the wars to help keep us safe.

They then got busy painting and drawing poppies , creating poppies in playdough and making poppy badges.

At 11 o'clock we came together to sit quietly and think about those who fought in the wars to save us. We watched "Poppies" a 2 minute short Remembrance Day film.
We finished off with a short prayer service to thank God.

Nursery and Reception have had a busy week with our bonfire activities!
🔥💥We used a firework songs to dance with colourful scarves and make firework pictures.
We painted and printed fireworks pictures and made rocket fireworks.
We made our own firework biscuits with chocolate and sprinkles. Then when Mrs Ruddock wasn’t looking we dipped our fingers in the left over chocolate.💥🔥

We have enjoyed lots of activities, discussions and learning through our play based activities around our latest topic "My Family "
